While the actual school is paramount, often the question raised is “are you going to stay with your parents?” This question is generally met by a “I'm out of here!”, or nervous fidgeting. Luckily, UCF has a plethora of options for housing. There is the Neptune Community, Lake Claire, and the esteemed Towers at Knights Plaza, among many other just as well regarded communities. The exciting part about this? Florida Prepaid College even helps pay for many of the communities, and this is readily encouraged by our parents who saved up for so long to send us off to be successful. UCF has the ultimate housing necessities, and this honestly makes me feel more at home with all the…

When I first moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University I could immediately feel change. Coming from a place like Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has very many differences than Stillwater. Most people actually say once you move off to college you will lose things like personal space, personal property, privacy, etc. In some cases, that is not always true; for example, I never really had my own personal space until moving to college. Moving to college is like having your own living space to get away from the world for a bit. That is when privacy kicks in. If you live in a traditional dorm you are likely to have a roommate. Having a roommate may invade your privacy a bit, but it is really not that bad. Also having a roommate may…

In my previous job with a medical clinic there were two main technology systems that were used on a daily basis. These systems were CITRIX and MainFrame and were a necessity for the medical clinic in order for all to communicate. Of course there was also email that was used a daily basis throughout the medical clinic. On the CITRIX system is where all the patients’ information was stored from their office visits to the billing information as well as the demographics. All employees that dealt with any of the patient’s information had access to this system and they were able to update it for the patient in real time so that everyone who needed access to the most current information had it. On the MainFrame portion of the main system that the medical clinic used is where the claims were able to be adjusted and all of the billing information was stored. This is also where the employee would be able to transfer medical records or any other information that was needed by the insurance company to the insurance company for further claim processing.…

In order for healthcare providers to deliver the best outcomes to patients, it is essential for providers to be able to work as a team. An individual is not able to provide the quality of care that a patient needs on his or her own. Treating patients is becoming more complicated and time consuming. For example, a patient comes into the Emergency Room and is unresponsive and unable to breath. The physician on call determined that the patient needs to incubated and placed on a ventilator. That physician would rely on help from a nurse in order to carry out the procedure. The physician would need to communicate with the nurse so that all precautions are avoided and the procedure is completed before the patient dies. If members of a healthcare…

Living on-campus will allow you to meet more people and establish more friendships than if you live off-campus. Living in a dorm means that there will always be someone around to hang out with. You will also usually be aware of any campus activities and how to be involved in them. For example, you are doing homework on your desk, and your neighbor stop by telling you there is a cook out just started near the library. So you can either keep working or throw up your pen and go have a hotdog. That is not easy if you live off-campus.…

Living on campus or around campus makes it easy to feel part of the school. With being walking distance to class, dinning services, the gym, the post office and campus events this makes it a smoother transition from high school to college. Students become experts around the campus and make the university their home away from home. This makes college a fun and great experience for students; the social opportunities are just a few steps this makes it accessible for students to make friends and feel once again apart of the school. According to Dorming or Commuting: Which Is Best for You? “Because you are always surrounded by fellow students, it 's a lot easier to make friends and develop lasting relationships. Even if you don 't have a roommate, you 're sure to meet students who live in your dorm hall.” Having all the resources around campus like libraries and tutoring centers makes it easy for students to successfully pass their first year college. As stated in ecampustours “If you live on-campus, you don 't have to worry about monthly rent payments, utility…
