When you think of dieting you think of three major keys: eating less, eating healthier, and working out. But in the world of stick thin models and fad dieting there are thousands of choices you have when choosing a method for loosing weight. Examples of popular diets are Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, and Jenny Craig to name a few. Many people resort to drastic measures, these measures can lead to terrible eating disorders like Anorexia and Bulimia. Though it may not be new, and it may not be very well known, but it is an extremely effective diet. The HCG Diet. HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. HCG is a hormone produced early in pregnancy by the placenta. Most pregnant women produce at least 200,000 IU (international units) of HCG daily during 6 to 8 weeks (range 100,000 to one million IU per day). Pharmaceutical companies take advantage of this and purify the HCG from urine. The hormones from the purified urine are then processed, bottled, and ready to be sold. In most cases you need a prescription, but there are many ways around it, like ordering out of the country. It may take a little longer to reach your doorstep but it is the same quality as the other. There are two methods to doing this die the first is sublingual, you get a medicine dropper and place the drops under your tongue. The more common and more effective way of the two would be the injection method. This may bother some people with Trypanophobia or an extreme fear of needles. This diet is extremely strict and has many guidelines you must follow. If these are not followed precisely they will have the reverse effect, weight gain. There is a time limit to this diet; you must do it for at least 23 days and no more then 43 days. This diet is designed to make the individual lose 1 to 2 pounds a day, and if your not loosing pounds you are loosing inches.
