Having a relationship is common in teenagers’ life. It also occurs in college students. They could build a relationship with other as a bond of love. They could also do not have to build it to be free do everything. However, the consequences are different when a student decide to make a relationship and not.
The first thing is the different in spirit of study. The spirit is in the form of motivation. It comes from someone that she/he loves. Nevertheless, someone who has no relationship may get motivation just from his/her closed people like closed friends, parents, and so on, not from the one that he/she loves. So having a relationship leads people to get bigger spirit compare to those who have no relationship. The next difference is in term of time management. The student who has a relationship has a limited time to study since she/he must divide the time for both studying and dating. It becomes more difficult when there is a dispute between the couple because it takes more time to solve a dispute. Compare to a student who is single, he/she has full time. He/she does not have to worry about lack time for the reason that he/she could spend more time to study and do other activities. That is why the time management for those who have a relationship is not as well as the single students’ time management.
The focus also differs between both students. The focus itself is affected by concentration. Sometimes, for a student who is in a relationship, when he/she is doing something, his/her concentration splits into two. So what appears in his/her mind is not only the thing she/he is doing, but also another thing which is his/her girlfriend. Then he/she could get loss concentration when they do activities such as studying, driving, and so on. At the end, he/she works with less focus. In contrast, the single student could get a full concentration as a result of nothing in his/her mind except the thing that he/she is doing at the moment. Moreover, because he/she works with full concentration, the results of his/her works is better than the results from those who are work with less concentration.
In conclusion, the differences between having a relationship and not having a relationship have their own plus and minus sides. The bigger spirit of study could be considered as a positive side of having a relationship while the better time management and better focus are positives side of not having a relationship.

In college, the cultural norm is that one should engage with the opposite gender casually until a meaningful encounter occurs. The University of Colorado at Boulder is known for its high rates of festivities, which is a leading factor in sexual behavior. The hypothesis of this study being, if students are in relationships during college they will be more inclined to have sex due to intimacy, whereas single students will not be as sexually active due to not being as emotionally attached. This research will be effective in yielding information, about dating and sex, about both students who are single as well as those who are in a relationship. Through study methods such as surveys, available data collection, and field research, effective information can be found to help prove or disprove my hypothesis. Implementing a survey within the University of Colorado would be a very quick and effective way to gain insight on sexual activity, relationship statuses, and length of relationships to learn if my hypothesis is accurate. Data analysis will give a means of gathering information for certain processes, like creating surveys and setting guidelines for field research before observations. Field research will help give direct observations of all groups studied in the research project (single vs. relationship) and more in-depth information since one is immersing into the subject group to observe. Through all of these methods, research can be made about how dating and sex in college are relative to each other. Though I am only relating my research to a select college, this can all be reciprocated at any other university or college.…

On a daily basis, college students are faced with a conflict of interest: to study or not to study. Often times these decisions are affected by outside factors that are beyond the control of the student (i.e. work, athletics, involvement in organizations). One other factor that is believed to be a major influence is the existence of a significant other. While involved in a relationship during college, one might be forced to choose either studying for school or spending time with the significant other, leaving the student with increased amounts of stress. Level of commitment to the relationship must also be taken into consideration. A student who is involved…

This study was conducted to discover whether or not there is an association between academic performance and involvement in a romantic relationship amongst undergraduate college students. The variables looked at were dating status (single or involved), level of involvement in the relationship, and grade point average. Variables were calculated on a survey measuring relationship and school satisfaction. Seventy-five undergraduate students attending Loyola University New Orleans were surveyed. Approximately fifty-one percent of those surveyed were involved in a relationship. The relationship assumed between grade point average and dating status was not supported by the data. However, students involved in a relationship experienced more stress when facing deadlines for school. The data has not revealed any clear correlation in the study between dating status and academic performance, though hopefully further research in this idea will prove beneficial.…
