Gun Control
Gun control is an issue that is constantly being debated. Gun control is limiting or taking the right of citizens to carry or purchase a gun. There are people who are pro-gun control and those who believe gun control is unconstitutional to the citizens. Many political leaders and organizations have strong opinions on gun control, which keeps the gun control debate publicized in today’s society. Throughout history the citizens of the US have used firearms to protect the nation, protect their families, to hunt for food and to engage in sporting activities. There are times that guns are used for the wrong reasons like murder, or accidental deaths. However guns can be beneficial. Choosing a stand on gun control can be hard, but going against gun control would be most coherent.
If you were in a restaurant and a mad man came in and began shooting people right and left including your family, would you be thinking if they would ban guns this would have never happened? Probably not! What you would probably think is, if I had a gun on me I could protect my family and also the others. Looking at firearm production data from 2010, various gun manufactures state the figure for gun ownership are about 45% or 52 million of American households own guns, at 260 million guns. Guns have played a huge role in this country since the beginning and there is no stopping now. The Second Amendment of the U.S constitution protects the rights of individuals to keep and bear arms. This was founded in 1791 as one of the first amendments. Therefore, gun control laws violate the constitution.
Marijuana is illegal in the U.S but yet people still find a way to get and use the drug. In terms of guns, if they controlled guns, criminals would still be able to get a hand on one if needed, but the law-abiding citizen would have theirs taken away. Does this sound fair?
