TOUR WHOLESALERS
A tour wholesaler specialises in putting together tour packages which are marketed to the public through a network of retail travel agents. eg. Jetabout Jetset Tours Australian Airline Holidays American Express Great Aussie Holidays Viva! Holidays

HOW THEY OPERATE
Wholesalers sell their packages (to the consumer) through retail travel agents, not to them. In some cases tour wholesalers may sell direct to the public, generally through their own retail travel agency outlets. An example of this is Jetset Tours who deal direct with the public through their retail outlets, Jetset Travel. Other examples are Jetabout Holidays through Jetabout Travel, Thomas Cook and American Express. A wholesaler in the travel industry is similar to a wholesaler in any other industry. Where they differ is that the wholesaler in the travel industry generally does not take title to the "goods" they "sell". They act as one of the "middle person"...
