4 Introduction Groupon is a shopping website which offers discounted gift certificates on goods, services and events in many markets around the world. The founder of this website is Andrew Mason. Forbes, an America publishing and media company, stating that Groupon is the fastest growing company ever. Forbes states that “Groupon made $1 billion in sales faster than any other business”. There are many employees working under the companies across the country. Andrew Mason revealed that Groupon have 8000 employees and Groupon is now in 46 countries. Over half of the employees are salesman because Groupon Inc. is a selling machine company. They employed creative staffs to design and draft deals in order to be featured on websites. Groupon send staffs to research on local market in order to find business opportunities. The merchant signs up and Groupon features deals and then advertise or promote the idea through marketing sites. Google Sites, Microsoft Sites, Yahoo! Sites and Facebook.com display advertisements or deals from Groupon. Groupon offer deals to the customers by offering group discounts or promotions. Groupon Inc. earns its profit by keeping half of the money from their customers. Customers redeem coupon at merchant and Groupon pays merchant share. Groupon’s customers mainly are younger users and females. These customers are in the age range of 12 - 44 years old.
