This study was carried out for gain some information on Green Technology, besides it is doing for completion our report. The report was done based on objectives. The objectives are to find the factors of lack of green technology in Malaysia, to recognize the reason Malaysia is not practicing green technology and to emphasis the important of green technology to our environment. The report is done by some progress which is we collected the data from questionnaires, from our direct observation; survey conducted and interview an engineer. From our questionnaires we got a lot of information about this problem and these questionnaires help us to meet our objective for completion our report. Observation we have made also contributed to our information in this report and the engineer we interviewed give full cooperation which he gave a lot of information for our report. Based on our finding we found that in Green Technology the major reason is all about the cost of construction. The cost for the construction caused Green technology unfamiliar in our country. Besides, lacks of ability in this field in Malaysia also give lack of green technology in Malaysia. keTHHA is the department minister established by Malaysia government to planning, developing policies and restructure program for establish green technology as cooperate social among developer.
1.1 Background of the study
Recently, our world is facing the issue of increase of temperature or green house affect. The temperature is increasing day by day. This phenomena has become worse and attracts attention by all parties. According to the research made by the National Resources Inventory, every country must reduce 40% energy and 24% of global carbon dioxide emissions. In Malaysia government very committed to follow this resolution. The Government has spent hundreds of millions of ringgit to educated developer and people about the important of green technology. By established of Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) , this minister can coordinates, monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the National Green Technology Policy and Green Technology programmes and climate change at the national level.
1.2 What is green technology ?
Green Building is the practice of creating structures and using process that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient through a building life-cycle. These processes are from sitting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and deconstruction. The purpose of this practice is concerning to economy, utility, durability and comfort. The main objective of green building is to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment. The reducing of that impact are through energy, water and other resources efficiency. It is also to protect occupant’s health and improving employee productivity, reducing waste, pollution, and environmental degradation. The main goal of green building is siting and structure design efficiency, energy efficiency, water efficiency and materials efficiency; indoor environmental quality enhancement, operations and maintenance optimization; and waste reduction. For the siting and structure design efficiency, the construction projects are found from the concept and the design stages. In fact, that is one of the major steps and a project life-cycle will give larger impact on cost and performance. Green building also measures to reduce energy use.
Materials efficiency refers to the building materials that should be extracted and manufactured locally to the building site to minimize the energy. Where possible, building elements should be manufactured off-site and delivered to site, to maximize benefits, waste and recycling.
Green Technology refers to products, equipment or systems which satisfy the following criteria: •
It minimizes the degradation of the environment;
It has zero or...
