Creative Writing – Green Street
Everything changed the night Bovver betrayed us. The night the NTO stormed our pub. The night Steve and Pete got killed. I don’t blame Bovver for Steve death – at least not any more. I mean, how could I? I’ve killed him myself. I had to. Not only is he responsible for my sister’s husband’s death and his brother, he also betrayed the Green Street Elite. It is actually quite an ironical story how I killed him.
The day after the hospital told us that both Steve and Pete had passed away we were all very shocked. Especially Bovver who was blaming himself for the whole thing - and so did I by the way. It was getting late so Bovver asked if he could stay in me and Pete’s place. I told him sure – no hard feelings. But as soon as he fell asleep I made a Molotov cocktail and put right next to him. Whether he died from smoke poisoning or burned to death I don’t know. But I don’t really care as long as he can no more do anything to harm the GSE reputation.
After those faithful days the GSE stood without a leader. After Pete it would probably have been Bovver but with him out of the way there was no one - until I took over. Shannon begged me to come with her back to USA. I told her I couldn’t. I found my place in this world. I was never meant to be a journalist, I was meant to be the leader of the GSE.
Shannon even set an ultimatum to me. She said she would never talk to me again if I continued being in the firm. I didn’t respond to her a just walked away. Since that I haven’t heard from them. My old family. But that doesn’t matter. I have a new family now. A family whom doesn’t only have my back – A family whom backs I got. A family called the Green Street Elite.
