I don’t remember much about how my family died, I was just a three year old boy; Keenan Waren. All I can remember is it was Thanksgiving day with my whole family. I know it was this day because the smell of the turkey was burnt into my memory, and it’s also what the people at the orphanage told me as I was growing up. Something else I can recall is seeing a tall, bulky shadow holding a green flame in his hand after the lights shut off. Everyone was screaming, but I am still unsure of what was happening to them. My mom carried me out into the rainy night in front of the house in my carseat, and I was crying for the teddy bear my aunt gave me for my first birthday. I kept crying, so my mom covered me with blanket and ran back inside to grab it…
When I woke up, I found myself in the hospital with my best friend. I asked the doctor what happened and he told me that the police found us unconscious. All I remember was that we were hiding in the closet and the house smells like its burning. I saw a mirror and I looked at myself. The doctor told me I had a second-degree burn, which made me start crying. I thought about my parents. The police told us that both of our parents died during the explosion and…
We already ate and drank have of are supplies. Fluffy and I were both cold but I forgot to grab blankets and pillows. I got up and walked up the stairs cautiously. To see if there was any thing happening, but luckily there wasn't. The stand with the blankets was five feet away. I ran over to the blanket stand and grabbed two blanket and two pillows. I was about to turn around when I heard a knock on the door. I thought it was just the wind when I heard it again. I ran over to the door and saw whole family of people standing outside my door holding onto each other. There was a little girl, a baby, two teen boys and the parents. I grabbed the door knob and turned…
Riley was a very aggressive dog. That morning he had climbed on Max’s back and threw him to the ground. After that they day was normal, I rode the bus from grandma and grandpas house to school and then got back on the bus at 3:15. When I got home at about 6:30 P.M. I saw Max’s collar on the dining room table. I didn’t think much about it and just started to eat my supper. Then when my dad came in carrying Max’s body into the house. I knew what happened, he was dead. My dad was crying, he had just lost his best friend. At that point I didn’t know what happened. I was little, but latter that night I found out what had happened to Max, he broke three bones in his body because of Riley throwing him to the ground that morning. After we found out why Max had to be put down, we made the tough decision to put Riley down to because he was to aggressive. That day that I lost Max was a day I lost a part of me. I was so sad. I understand now why my best friend was put…

My story begins at just the age of 8, we just had moved to a South Texas town, Kountze, this town had about 2,000 to 3,000 people residing in it. My parents had decided this was the perfect place to raise me and my brother who is two years older than me. I didn’t understand much then, but from what I can remember the only problems I had was what flavor of ice cream I wanted when my father took me to the ice cream shop and which Disney channel show was on. But then, as I thought things were just fine, On one summer night I heard noises in my parents’ bedroom and I overheard my favorite hero crying in the bedroom and saying he needed to tell us something terrible had happened. As he sat me down on his lap and told me that grandfather had passed away. My grandfather had been diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after he came from India to America too visit us. My father had to take him back to India when they found out he diagnosed. I sat there not understanding what had happened and hearing my hero in tears for the first time. It was one of first of many forms of tragedy I have had to witness as I thought nothing could shake my father but at this moment I realized I was wrong and got scared, this moment had changed my whole…
I remember staring at the wall with my face feeling hot and wet. The look of confusion and sadness on my father’s face brought tears to my eyes. This memory stained my room forever. This memory tainted my perception of the house. The house slowly transformed into a less innocent version of itself. The feeling of not wanting to forgive was the most painful of them all. I did not understand why she did what she did but it was a fact and we all have to accept facts. I knew that this was the event that would change my life forever. This made me want to leave the house that I so dearly loved before and make something better of…

When I was about 5 years old, my family and I used to live with my aunt. By that time I was just me, my mom and my dad. I remember how one day my mom and dad had gone o work early in the morning and I was by myself in the room sleeping, when I heard someone step in the room, I lifted myself up to see who it was, but all of a sudden one heavy hand covered my eyes and mouth, so it blocked my vision. I could feel this heavy, warm breathing near me, I started to get scared and started to cry. I could also feel another heavy hand go in my shirt then in my pants, I cried even more, and then I bit him, till he started bleeding. When he saw his hand bleeding he let go of my face, when I looked up, it was my aunts husband, he left the room and went off to work. I cried and cried till I went to sleep.…
It was a great age, my father was very ristrict with all of us five, he also used to stay guarding his fiel[1]ds with a gun under his arm. He wasn’t very famous of being affective or demonstrating his feelings. People from the village didn’t like him much. I think he demonstrated his feelings and affections for us in another way , by protecting his fields like he was protecting us. We lived in the middle of the bush in a very little house , that even some parts of it were in wood. We didn’t had much time and things to play, we had to help our father on the patch. Three of us shared a little room on the small roof of the house. My parents had also a very little room on the first floor. There was one night , a terrible night, heavy rain and storms came , there was one that affected one part of the house, the kitchen got all destroyed , everything felled down and it stayed all black. My father had to sell part of his crops to pay the arrangement of the house. Back then it was a very difficult life.…
I remember that day was really cold and windy; the sky was very cloudy and dark it was a depressing day I got home at 3:15 p.m I opened my black Guess bag to get my house keys out as I inserted the key in the door I heard someone crying inside the house. I opened the big wooden door and I seen my mom with a red face and really red swollen teary eyes I knew she had cried even after she had denied it. She had the deepest pain in her eyes but she wouldn’t tell me a word. The first thing that came to my head was my cousin kenia. I asked my mom “have you called to Mexico?” she didn’t answer my question. Then I asked “what happened to…
