Greed
Greed
Greed is it the true root of all evil in this world and it has caused so much pain and suffering to humanity. It irritates me so bad it gets under my skin and gets me going. It has caused many world conflicts that I don’t see the point in someone being greedy. From everything that happens in the world, being greedy is that last thing that this world needs.
Everyday someone dies because of someone getting too greedy about his or her money. A perfect example of this would be a Mexican drug lord. The more he gets the more he wants, the more the power of greed takes over him. Because of the drug war, aka greed war, people who have family in México cannot even go visit them without being stopped by a cop and getting arrested because the cops are also involved with the gangs now. It has gone on too long and the more Drug lords there are the more each of them want to take from the others. It’s all a game to them while the people’s lives don’t even matter just as long as they get what they are after, money and power.
More than 700,000 people are believed to be trafficked each year worldwide; some 50,000 to the United States. Trafficking is now considered the 3rd largest source of profits for organized crime, behind only drugs and weapons, generating billions of dollars annually.
Trafficking affects virtually every country in the world. The largest number of victims come from Asia, with over 225,000 victims each year from Southeast Asia and over 150,000 from South Asia. The former Soviet Union is now believed to be the largest new source of trafficking for prostitution and the sex industry, with over
100,000 trafficked each year from that region. And 75,000 or more are trafficked from all over Europe. Over 100,000 from Latin America and the Caribbean, and over 50,000 victims come from Africa. Most of victims are sent to Asia, the Middle East, Western Europe and North America. Woman and children a year that are ripped from their homes every day
