"Over the past two years, the number of shoppers in Central Plaza has been steadily decreasing while the popularity of skateboarding has increased dramatically. Many Central Plaza store owners believe that the decrease in their business is due to the number of skateboard users in the plaza. There has also been a dramatic increase in the amount of litter and vandalism throughout the plaza. Thus, we recommend that the city prohibit skateboarding in Central Plaza. If skateboarding is prohibited here, we predict that business in Central Plaza will return to its previously high levels." 1. Mere correlation between increase in popularity of skateboard does not prove that it is causing the decrease in business of central plaza. There could be other reasons as well like other better malls in terms of connectivity and so on. There could economic reasons as well or people got bored of mall culture as well. How are the other malls in the city are doing . are they doing good. If yes, 2. Also, author does not explain why he thinks the littering and vandalism has been caused by skateboard. It is leading to decrease in popularity of central plaza. 3. Based on the assumption, if author goes on to predict that prohibiting skateboarding will reduce littering and vandalism. It is quite likely that people may not like it at all. Whatever the business it currently doing will reduce even further. Author could have supported his argument by stating where similar phenomena was obsvered. Or similar mall in the same locality which had stopped skateboarding. 4. Has any survey been done which supports author points of view that people also believe they do not like to go to central plaza because of littering and vandalism and because of they are not comfortable with people skateboarding in the mall
