The cartoon I choose was a comic strip. The first picture was of a building that said “House of Java Cybercafé”. There is a man and a woman. The woman insults that man. She basically says that the man should not be dressed up because for whatever reason that he is will be a disappointment. In real life, a cybercafé, I guess, could exist, but it would not be an actually building. So if a man was dressed up and online at this cybercafé, then that could mean he does not have a job and sits at home all day online or it could mean he is at work and is not doing his job because he is online. In reality, that would be a disappointment, because the man is not providing for his family or if he does not have a family then for himself. Woman is always stereotyped as the nagger and the man is always stereotyped as a dead-beat disappointment, but it could really go either way. The woman in the cartoon does not look like she is trying to impress anyone, but the man does. So it is possible that the man has an appointment or something where he needs to look nice. This comic strip made me laugh. I think comic strips and cartoon make anything funnier especially the news. The news should not be funny, but I think it should not be taken so serious all the time. Of course, there is something that you cannot illustrate in a cartoon or comic. I know as a younger person if the newspaper had more comics and/or cartoons I would read it more.
