“The meaning of a message is the change which it produces in the image”.[1] In order to be a good political leader, you have to progress certain traits over time. You are not born a good political leader you have to be made in to a good political leader. To be a good political leader you must have will power and determination to succeed. A good political leader in order to succeed needs a good education, training and experience.

“Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent”. [2] Good leaders are always studying to make themselves better and to improve their leadership skills. Good leaders have character, beliefs and values. Good political leaders must have experience in experience. In the novel, Moses, Man of The Mountain by Zora Neale Hurston, I believe that Huston’s character Moses had a lot of charisma. “The familiar story of the Exodus, Hurston blends the Moses of the Old Testament with the Moses of black folklore and song to create a powerful novel of the persecution of slavery, the dream of freedom, and the redemption of the faithful”.[3] In this novel, the character that is a good political leader is Moses. I believe Moses was a good political leader and that an oppressed group needed a leader like Moses. If I was part of an oppressed group I would want Moses as a leader. He fought for the good of the people and to free them from being slaves. He did whatever necessary to bring the Hebrews to peace. In Hurston’s Novel, the setting takes place in a ghetto place called Goshen, where the people are forced to work long hours, they get beaten and have no rights. The conditions are horrible. Zora Neale Hurston is describing a society where the government controls everything. The government knows everything that happens up to in the bedrooms of the people. One of the main laws was “no male babies” because Pharaoh was a raid they would grow up and fight against him. This country really needed a political leader like Moses to give these people back their lives and to bring fairness back to this country.

Moses was born fighting for his life because of Goshen’s law of “no male babies”. Moses was a Hebrew and he was to be killed because of their laws but then, he was found by the princess and was raised as a prince. From young Moses was always seeking knowledge like all good leaders. Moses never agreed with Pharaoh and what he did with the Hebrews. Moses had an uncle named Ta-Phar, who disliked him because I think Ta-Phar knew Moses had potential to be a better leader than Ta-Phar could ever be. While Moses leaded his men on the back of a horse where there is more action, Ta-Phar led his men in a chariot.

Good leaders give respect and attention. Moses gave attention and listened to the people and their ideas. “The men of war also loved the avid attention that Moses gave their advice. He was a born trooper, they all agreed, as they watched his quick grasp of intricate problems and his tendency to experiment with troop placement and maneuvers. There was something about him, outside of being the Pharaoh grandson that made men listen to him with respect. He was the young’s men’s choice for a leader”. “Thanks. I’ve been told that before and I have led many at battle and chopped down share of men. But I doubt that any life I have ever taken benefited anybody. The property I took from conquered countries didn’t make anybody rich. It just whetted their appetites for more. No, no more soldiering for me”. Even when Moses was out of Egypt, he was recognized as a leader. People knew there was something about him that made him a good leader. “I never saw anybody who looked more like what he was than you do”. When Moses left Egypt because of the conditions that were going he met Jethro, a good man who gave Moses shelter and Moses married his daughter. Being the good political leader Moses...
