God, Women, Antigone and Pai

There are people that are alike, but there leaders and followers witch separates those two types of people. Same actions could mean many different things like good or even bad actions. Nicki Caro directed the film Whale Rider. The Whale Rider is a movie about a child who experiences rough childhood and the lose of her brother. She grows up with her grandpa’s hate to her, but she still becomes the leader of her people. Author Sophocles wrote the play Antigone. Antigone is a play about a young woman whose father unknowingly marries his mother and has four children. She becomes very disgusted and makes good and bad decisions and actions. Antigone and Pai have a lot of similarities, and that’s what makes them unique. Antigone and Pai both seem to get their callings from the Gods and that’s what rules them most of the time Some man think that women are weak and that they don’t have the courage to make serious changes, but Antigone and Pai change the way those foolish man think. Antigone and Pai have lots of things in common, but the most important thing that they have in common is that they are both very strong willed. Whenever people receive callings from the Gods they seem to not care and push it aside, but when Antigone and Pai receive their callings they follow the voice and do the right thing. When Antigone receives the calling from the Gods, she immediately follows it and does whatever she thinks is right. (773-775) While talking to her sister Ismene, Antigone makes it clear that for her “The Higher lows are more important then the laws of Creon.” She her decisions not caring if it’s what other people want. She makes her decisions based on her conscience, and what she thinks is the right thing to do. Pai receives the calling from the Gods and the whales, right after that she calls the whales.
