Goa, one of the most popular holiday destinations for people all across the globe, is the smallest state in India situated on the coast of Arabian Sea. Being a former Portuguese colony, the culture in Goa is considered more liberal as compared to other parts of the country. The beauty of Goa, as a holiday destination lies in its ability to cater to varied holiday themes ranging from a fun filled vacation with family, romantic getaway for couples, an exuberant time out with friends to a peaceful vacation for lone travelers.

Goa is known for its beaches, churches and nightlife. Popular beaches including Calangute, Vagator and Baga are all located in North Goa and are the most commercial beaches as compared to Anjuna and Arambol beaches which are distant and less explored. During season time, all famous beaches offer water Sports including windsurfing, parasailing, water-skiing, snorkeling, water-scooter. For tourists looking to spend peaceful time at the beach and explore the serene nature, Goa also has a variety of beach resorts to offer.

Churches exhibit a strong display of Portuguese culture in Goa and are mostly situated in old Goa. The famous churches include Basilica of Bom Jesus, Mary Immaculate Conceptio and Se Cathedral. Other local attractions include the Saraawat Temple, Dona Paula Bay, Fort Aguada, Chapora Fort and the World Wax museum.

While the most preferable time to visit this place is from November until March, Goa is at its picturesque best during monsoons. Tourism in Goa is at its peak during the annual Goan carnival and the New Year cum Christmas Celebrations which start as early as mid December. For party lovers, Goa has endless celebrations to offer. Nightlife of Goa could be explored at various clubs situated on Baga Beach, Vagator Beach and various others. For local transport, tourists often hire a two wheeler or a car which and explore the area in their own ways.
