ADMN 404INTRODUCTION TO STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

This course introduces students to the concepts and principles of Strategic Management. Students will finish this course being able to understand and apply the steps required to create and evaluate businesses from a strategic perspective. It is hoped that through this course, students will gain a better understanding of the complexity and interrelationship of modern managerial decision making. Ethical and international issues are integrated throughout the course. Upon completion of the course the student should be able to: * To make good strategic decisions and to consider all aspects of strategy implementation * To understand the strategic context for decisions in organizations * To analyse how firms develop and sustain a competitive advantage over time * To understand how the firm can effectively govern itself
