Globalization: is it good or bad?
At first we must answer the question of “What is Globalization?” Every day we hear it on the news, read it in the papers, over hear people talking about it… and in every single instance the word globalization seems to have a different meaning. So, what is globalization? Globalization is such a commonly used term in the twentieth century. It simply means that the world has become integrated economically, socially, politically and culturally through the advances of technology, transportation and communication. The definition of globalization is a growth to a global or worldwide scale. It is a process of interaction and integration between governments, cultures, and companies. It is important because it has effects on the environment, on culture, on politics, and on economics to name a few. People think that globalization is new, but it is not. In fact globalization has been around for thousands of years, it just had not been noticed as easily as it is today. One of the best indicators of globalization is “Technology”. Technology is the main reason of why we are noticing globalization. Without technological developments in transportation and communication our world would be much more different. And also it was much more difficult. With the developments in transportation people can travel to places that people in the past have dreamt of. Globalization is happening all around us every day whether it is wanted or not. And there is no doubt that it has both good and bad effects towards people and the world. Some say that globalization is a bad thing and should be controlled to some degree. Others say that it is a great thing that is happening in the world and that it should be seen as a move in the positive direction.
