The temperature of our planet is perfect for life. Not too cold, like Venus, not too hot and Mars. Thanks to these conditions we can live in this planet. The earth receives heat from the sun. Some gases in the atmosphere and prevent the hold of this heat from escaping back into space. Today this delicate equilibrium is in danger because of the pollution of the atmosphere which causes the gases to retain much heat near the surface. Temperatures around the globe have increased in the last century and this could cause global climate change. The sea level rise and other changes in the environment pose a threat to all living beings. The term greenhouse effect refers to the phenomenon whereby the earth is kept warm and overall warming of the planet. In order to maintain optimum environmental conditions for life is essential to understand the complex relationships that exist between the earth and the atmosphere.
Increasing the temperature of the earth due to the use of fossil fuels and other industrial processes that lead to an accumulation of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and chlorofluorocarbons) in the atmosphere.
