1.1 Introduction
Japan, a beautiful and wonderful country made up of more than 6,800 islands and located in East Asia in the Pacific Ocean which lies off the coast of Russia and to the east of People’s Republic of China, North Korea, South Korea and Taiwan in the south. The area of Japan is 377,873kilometersquare which is slightly smaller than the size of California(United States of America). Japans’ main islands are Hokkaido, Shikoku, Honshu and Kyushu and several thousand more islands which form a string of islands to the east of Asia extending 1,300 miles between the Sea of Japan and the western Pacific Ocean and they are often known as the Japanese Archipelago.
There are over 126,475,664miliion people that are currently living in Japan. The society is very homogeneous due to closed borders to foreigners. The official language of Japan is Japanese and uses four different writing systems that are Kanji(Chinese characters), Hiragana(phonetic alphabet for native words), Katakana(phonetic alphabet for foreign words), and lastly, Romaji(western alphabet used to write Japanese). Shinto which is known as “the way of Gods”, is the Japanese major religion and is as old as Japan itself alongside Buddhism. Christianity has a very little percentage in Japan together with other races in the world.

2.0 Major Attraction
Mount Fuji, Japan
Tourist who loves big and adventurous journey in Japan can have the opportunity to pay a meaningful and cultural visit to the highest mountain in Japan which is famously known as Mount Fuji. Mount Fuji, most commonly known as ”Fuji-san” in Japanese, is located in Honshu which is 100 kilometers from the capital of Japan, Tokyo and can also be seen clearly on clear days. With over 100,000 people trekking to the summit of Mount Fuji every year makes it the most climbed mountain in the world with a quarter of it are foreigners and the rest are Japanese locals.

    One of Japan’s many problems was its physical geography. Japan’s land is over 75% mountainous and has over 80 active volcanoes. The lack of flat land means that is difficult for them to build vital roads for transport. Its weather and climate can cause problems such as severe storms called typhoons – there can be over 30 of these a year. These can interrupt building projects and cause severe damage to the people and their houses. Another problem Japan has is its tectonic activity.
