Many people have different views on aging, but most people respond with "Aging is what you make of it." There is an increasing number of people who are 65 and older in the United States. Most of these people according to the government are healthy and also living a lot longer. Although according to the government these people are healthy, about one fourth of them are not in healthy conditions. As we age we have to take care of ourselves. Taking care of ourselves should start when we are younger because good habits grow and become better as we grow. There are many problems becoming older. When we become older we become victims of physical, psychological, or other forms of abuse. Aging is a process that involves the breakdown of structures which results in slow functions. The younger generation is so quick to put the older people in nursing homes because they don't have time for them and visit when they have a chance. If you put someone you love in a nursing home you wouldn’t want to see them more often and spend time with them. I do not think that older people get enough of attention from younger people. We also forget about the older generation but without them there would be no younger generation. We have to stop and think about what we say and act towards them and be more patient. Aging for some people can also be emotional. We have to look at aging as it happens to everyone and as part of the miracle of life. We have to start looking at getting old as a better thing not as a burden as the population often shows it as. I think that the older generation has more to offer and are willing to help if we would just listen to them.
There are many means to what quality of life is and how other people around us view it. Quality of life is evaluated on the general well-being of an individual in societies. Quality of life to me is being able to take care of myself the best of my ability. I don’t want someone else to become responsible...
