God and Abram
To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.” (Genesis 3:16)
In the scripture God dictated a punishment to the women. At the moment of laboring a child the women are to suffer a lot of pain. Also we can see how God sentenced the women to submit to their men. We can interpret that at the moment God was really mad at the women. God curses the women for not obeying his command. She did what she wanted to do and did not follow God’s commands.
“When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” (Genesis 6:1-3)
The meaning of this verse is that the sons of God are angels. They noticed how beautiful the women were and they choose the more attractive ones; they took them as their wives. We can see how women are a temptation to men, because even the angels could not resist to the beauty of women. Sometimes people sin against God without thinking of the consequences. The result of these bad decisions was that God made their days of life shorter and God spirit would not remain with man continually.
“Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be blessing. I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12: 1-3)
The call to Abram is a promise of his obedience. God promise to Abram a new land for his descendants and God will show him the way. God gave Abram a blessing promise and he will curse those who do not like Abram. The same way that Abram was called to
