Although many stereotypical gender roles have diminished over time, still, men and women may not be equal when it comes down to certain tasks.
In today’s society, I believe that it is still hard being a woman rather than being a man. I believe this because, not only do women still have a hard time looking for jobs, and being equal in the workforce, but women are still judged because they are simply women. Although in today’s society women and men are not that different in their roles in life, women can do about all of the jobs that men are able to do. The only problem is that they seem to be getting paid less. Gone are the days are where when women only had to stay home and be the house protector. Women are slowly entering many fields that men are usually abundant in such as: lawyers, doctors, mechanics, police, and also military. In the home women are still expected to cook, clean and care for the children, in addition to working. Men are also able to cook and do things that women are capable of doing at home, but most of the time, the men still come home from work and relax while the woman caters to his needs. If a woman were to be compared to a man today I would say that society would probably go with men being more helpful but not as caring as women. Men are more get to the point type of personality while women are more caring and emotional. This spills over to their attributes when it comes down to it all. If a job was more hands on, I believe that majority would like to go with a man but, if it was to be in the medical field I believe that a woman would be a better choice because they are more nurturing and careful because they are naturally born with this attributes. Even though in today’s world men and women try to be equal, men will still over power women because a man is the superior sex.
