Gender Identity
Gender Identity like many other topics has been one to talk about, especially for those who were born physically one way and throughout their youth realize that that’s not who they are and that they were meant to be the opposite sex, so they go and the dangerous procedures to change not only their identity but their gender.
Gender identity is known to be our psychological awareness or sense of being male or being female and one of the most obvious and important aspects of our self-concepts because is what we show that we are, what makes us which lets the outside world who we are. Some factors that determine gender Identity are Nature and Nurture. Gender identity is almost always consistent with chromosomal sex which is the way that two sexes opposite sex mix and make a baby who will be born most likely a male or a female. Now the Nurture comes along when that baby is about 12 to 18 months old and he/she starts learning about her body through the parents explaining it through songs or games. As they get older to understand who they are they either, feel comfortable in their own bodies and choose what’s going to make them OR they go through different stages like, Transsexuals who are people who desire to be of the opposite sex and live that lifestyle. These people go through a rough time and they experience Gender Dysphonia where they go through incongruity between their genital anatomy and their gender role. Although they know they were born that way, they feel like it was a mistake and they were meant to be the opposite. Along with these come three identities, Hetosexual, Homosexual and Bisexual and from this point on, they pretty much decide what their preference is when it comes to the opposite sex and who they are inside and out. A gay male can be ok with his body and be either feminine or masculine as for a gay female, she can choose to be girlie or masculine looking and for the ones who want to be different, in now Science there’s ways...
