Go gay marriage!

When walking down the street, would you ever think that six in every ten Americans say that the government shouldn’t regulate whether gay and lesbians can marry the people of their choice? When doing a survey in California, the poll findings stated that a majority of respondents at every level of education and income say same-sex marriage is “strictly private”. on the other hand, I found that almost seventy percent of Americans oppose gay marriage, but why? Because there is a lot of confusion on what homosexuality really is. Also there are many stereotypes about gay relationships, and even the misunderstanding of marriage as a whole. Throughout researching, I found many arguments against gay marriage. Marriage is for procreation, same-sex couples aren’t the best to raise children, gay relationships are immoral and violate the sacred institution of marriage, and churches would be forced to marry gay people against their will are just a few of the long list of arguments against gay marriage. Along with the bad there’s always good. The kids come out fine, same-sex relationships are just as natural as hetero relationships, denying gays rights is discrimination, and no church should determine legal policy. After researching, I found that the best argument against gay marriage is that it’s against God, but since marriage is a legal matter, and there is a separation of church and state in the U.S. and religious views shouldn’t have an impact on marriage laws.
