 What is Gay Marriage? If you don't know then I'll tell you right now, it is a legally or socially recognized marriage between two people of the same biological sex. The issue of gay, or same-sex, marriage has become one of the most opposing public policy matters in American politics. Gay rights advocates see it as one of the gay movement's main goals and argue that gay Americans have a right as citizens to express love and commitment through marriage, as well as a right to its many legal benefits. Gay marriage opponents, who tend to be religious groups and political conservatives, see marriage as limited to one man and one woman and think that allowing same-sex couples to marry would weaken that institution.  Although most states have shown no interest in approving gay marriage, and about 41 ban it, a handful of states now allow same sex marriages; including Washington DC, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and now New York. Other states are still trapped in political and legal disputes over the gay marriage issue. The most notable example of this is California, where the state supreme court in 2008 ruled a ban on gay marriage unconstitutional but voters then restored the ban in a ballot measure called “Proposition 8”. That ruling was appealed and later upheld by a federal appeals court in February 2012. Proposition 8 proponents then appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Same-sex couples in California are not allowed to legally marry until the Proposition 8 federal lawsuit is resolved. One of the surveys which was conducted in 2013 showed a record high of 58% of the American people supporting legal recognition for same-sex marriage this is really impressive to me because I think in  United Stated the younger generation is over ruling the older generation because they are very much open minded specially about gay marriage.  Some of the facts that studies conducted in several countries indicate that support for the legal recognition of...
