We are pleased to submit our Group project report on “Compensation and Benefits Management: a case study on Regan Garments Factory”. Our report focused on the problems to give proper compensation and benefits to the employees and related solution.
We have gathered information as much as possible. We tried to gather both primary and secondary data. Much of our secondary data came from some HRM books and partly from the web site. Other data came from primary sources.
We enjoyed working on this report and hope you will find it innovative.

All praises to the Almighty Allah, who has bestowed his kindness upon us by giving us the opportunity, time, courage, strength and patience to carry out and complete the report properly.
We are very much thankful to our honorable course instructor, Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul sir for his valuable and intellectual guidance to prepare this project.
We are very much grateful to Mr. A. B. M. Mosharrof Hossain, MD, Regain Garments (Pvt.) Ltd for giving us his valuable time and giving permission to collect data from his employees during the working time.
Then we must thank all the employees of Regain Garments (Pvt.) Ltd for cooperating with us by giving answers of all the questions we asked without any hesitation. Without their help it was not possible to complete this project.
Finally we must not loose opportunity of expressing our sincere appreciation to some of our friends, Aune, Sumaia, and Nisha who shared and inspired us all the time.
Now garments sector has most contribution in Bangladesh economy. There are about 4200 garment factories in Bangladesh, where more than two million workers work and 85 percent of whom is women worker. But unfortunately in last few years we have seen dissatisfactions among workers because of proper compensation and benefits.
The Bangladesh government fixed a minimum wage of 930 taka (13 dollars) for the sector in 1994 but many factories did not implement it, citing poor profit margins. Now, situation has changed. Garment sector has about 10 billion-dollar export earning. But, still workers work in the sector which is notorious for poor salaries and shabby safety standards. Because of this problem sometimes labors create violence what damaged our country’s image to the foreign countries and this creates fear in the foreign investors mind to invest in our country.
