Game Technology
When Sony was ready to release the Play Station 2 back in 2000 it had a unique commercial to go along with the advertising campaign. The commercial described that Play Station 2 is the beginning of a fictional future in 2078 where the Play Station 9 exist. The point of the commercial was simply to prepare us for the beginning of future game technology. Since the 1950s it is hard imagining how far the technology in games has adapted. In today’s times game technology is more in demand in the world population. From young children to grown adults the game society is catching more attention time after time. The best examples regarding this technology come from three major game companies that have set many milestones. Through the past two decades these game companies have shown the game technology growth from the past, accomplishments of the present, and set the bar for the future. Many can distinguish in ways how game technology has changed in the world.
Nintendo
Nintendo has had many years in the gaming industry in which they have shown many advances in their game technology. In 1985 Nintendo stood out with their game console Nintendo Entertainment System. The game console revitalized the video game industry with games such as Mario and Zelda. Then Nintendo upgraded to creating the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System doubled the central processing unit graphics from an 8-bit to a 16-bit. After the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came the 64-bit game console Nintendo 64 in 1996. After a decade Nintendo decided to enhance into using optical discs rather than game cartridges with the Nintendo GameCube console in 2001. Then in 2006 Nintendo released its latest game console the Wii, which is very interactive with the Wii Remote.
