POSITION DESCRIPTION – HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER
Objective: Oversee the overall organizational programme; * Plan, implement and co-ordinate strategic and practical company programmes * Develop and execute organizational plan in line with the Business plan * Drive continual improvement and best practise in all key health and safety * Empower various levels of management with the required health and safety procedures and tools. * Lead and ensure audit standards are met for quarry, maintenance and management programme
Key Result Area | Key Performance Indictors | Strategic andBusiness Planning | * Procedure annual plan prior to start of financial year, * Incorporate best practice and proven leading research into understudies planning * Drive continual improvement and incorporate into subordinates * Plan annual compliance training required for the with appropriate budget and standards set | Safe Management Practices | * Ensure all legal requirements are met * Regular review of safe act operations in domiciled departments * Regular review of the incident/injury reporting, recording and investigation processes and information produced * Implement health and safety behavioural observation process and regularly review * Ensure employee participation in health and safety * Lead and maintain annual ACC audit and status | Health and safety Reporting | * Measure and report on current health and safety trends * Identify leading indicators and report regularly * Implement strategies to endure continuous improvement of key performance indicators * Produce appropriate reports (Weekly, Monthly and Annually) | Coaching and Support | * Provide leadership in competency areas to senior management * Ensure understanding of departmental requirements at all levels * Ensure appropriate training for representatives and people leaders * Ensure training and refresher training to maintain compliance
