Fund Raising

Fund raising can be accomplished through various avenues.   Some possible sources are:

Supporters/benefactors , employees, friends & family , religious organizations, sports teams/personalities and entertainment companies/personalities.   Many of these groups look for good public relations opportunities while the others are helping for personal reasons.

Supporters/benefactors come in the form of neighborhood businesses and corporations.   Neighborhood businesses are strengthening their connection to the people who live in their area.   For example: a neighborhood restaurant having a beef and beer to raise money.   Corporations are getting public relations opportunities through providing goods, services, and or money. For example: The Campbell's Soup Company providing goods and or money.

Employees, friends & family help for personal reasons.   They are emotionally invested and are motivated to enhance the well being of those they love and care for every day.   Strategies to utilize this group may be in the form of a walk-a-thon or an auction.   They can help with mass mailings asking for donations.

Many religious organizations believe they should help those in need.   Neighborhood churches, synagogues, etc. should be contacted so they can organize activities such as second hand stores, auctions, and game nights.   Volunteers are a large part of any effort to raise money and here lies a large pool of people.  

Sports teams and personalities, as well as the entertainment industry, also use this for public relations. They can provide goods such as shirts, CDs, and signed items that can be auctioned off.   Sports and entertainment personalities can also have benefits where some of the ticket proceeds are donated.
