Friendship
Throughout my life I’ve had friendships that have come and gone. I’ve lost many friends, but one friend that I know that I will always have is my best friend Laya Mabini. Laya and I have been friends since 7th grade, and we’ve created a bond that can’t be broken. She is someone really special in my life and I’m lucky to have her. We have had our ups and downs but our friendship is still standing strong. At the end of the day I know that I will always have her. I know Laya from head to toe, in and out and all around. I’ve spend so much time around her that I could tell you more than just her favorite color or food. She is a very moody person. She has a really sassy attitude and she’s probably the most stubborn person I know. But theres more to her than just that. Laya is an all around down to earth person. She can always be honest and blunt with anyone and I love that about her. She jokes around all of the time but knows when to be serious. She has a personality that is so easy to get along with and she is always so happy all of the time. The way she carries herself just gives off a good vibe. Laya is my best friend because she has stayed by my side and never left. She’s a good friend because she’s been there for me in all of the ways I’ve needed her to be, especially when I’ve needed her most. She’s never too busy or too tired to listen to me talk or be a shoulder to cry on. I can trust her with anything. She has seen me at my best and at my worst and she’s never judged me. She is the most caring and loving person. She never takes me for granted, and I appreciate that. I love that I can not only have a fun time when I’m with her, but I can also have the most deep, meaningful talks with her. We understand each other and we connect in a way that I’ve never connected with anyone else. The difference between her and a frenemy is that a frenemy really isn’t a true friend. Laya is a genuinely true friend in more ways than one. A frenemy may take you for granted,

Over the years that I’ve been at Burdick, I’ve gained many great friends, but I also lost a few. Only a few selective of them, I tell my secrets to. For example, Kaiden, Coreena, Dakota, Elysium, Joelle, Jose, and Isaiah. They’re the greatest friends anyone could ask for and have. They’re loyal, truthful, understanding, funny, witty, sarcastic, and just plain awesome. I have them to thank for making ordinary moments, extraordinary. They’re always there when I want to hang out or vent out my feelings. They put in that extra effort to understand me for who I am, not caring the slightest bit about my flaws and imperfections. And if I ever need to shed some tears, I know that at least one of them will be there to comfort me. There are times where…

My best friend Sedona Love taught me something this year, something I would never have had seen with my own two eyes until she showed me. She taught me that when I am having trouble at home or life isn’t treating me so well, that she will always be there to listen and give their best input. She may sometimes be sarcastic, silly, goofy, mean, crazy, sometimes plain out embarrassing, and even care too much, but in the long run she is always going to be there to listen and not talk, hear without judging, and be there with nothing in return. In class sometimes she can be pretty critical but I know that’s just how our relationship works. I may get called silly, stupid, a dumb blonde, an idiot, but when I need my best friend the most I know that she will be there for me. When I needed a shoulder to cry on or when I needed a hug the most she was always there for me, when I felt there was no sense in life she showed me there was way more to life than I thought. A couple of weeks ago I went into severe anaphylactic shock and she was right there, she brought me my backpack and the things I needed most at the time. She stood up for me when my so called friends were talking behind my back not really knowing what was going on. She was also the only one who cared enough to call me and see how I was doing, she put everything aside just so she could make sure that I was okay. Not…

Friendship can mean so much to a person. You always hear about people saying that their soul mate is their boyfriend or husband but in some cases you hear people say that a girl friend is their soul mate and someone they tell everything to and share all life’s big moments with. Friendship is what makes the world go round. Without friendship, life would be plain, lonely, and boring. Friends are people you can talk to when you have no one that will listen, they are a shoulder you can cry on when you’re all alone. Friends can make you smile when you’re sad and stick up for you when you need them most. There are many different types of friends and it's hard to decide who’s a friend and who isn’t. Sometimes, people think they have new friends, but honestly they don’t. Like true love, you can’t make a friend in a couple minutes. Even if you think you have, that so called “friend” can stab you in the back in a matter of seconds.…

Friendship is the time that we were blasting eighties music while driving around town, all off key at the top of our lungs, but enjoying every second of it. Even a year later, when I hear that same song on the radio, it takes me back to the special times I shared with such special people. Friendship is about being able to just sit around someone’s house, and still being able to have a good time. It is silent conversations, late night talks, finishing each other’s sentences and shared secrets. It is a lifetime filled with shared memories of laughter and love. Friendship is truer and rarer than the deepest of loves because best friends really are…

I have the greatest group of friends or I should say two really good girl friends. Over the years my circle has gotten smaller, but that’s ok. I have learned it is not about how many friends I have, but the quality of the people that I spend my time with. In fact the Mayo Clinic states, “Quality counts more than quantity. While it's good to cultivate a diverse network of friends and acquaintances, you also want to nurture a few truly close friends who will be there for you through thick and thin”. My friends have walked with me through the best and the worst times of my life. We have seen each other through marriages, births and even deaths. This…

“A friend is one that knows you as you are, understand where you have been, accepts what have become, and still, gently allows you to grow”- William Shakespeare. This quote reminds me of my two best friends Sendra and Susan. As a person, I hardly mix with people, maybe because I am very picky. However, when I first met them, something compelled me towards them. Even today I don’t know that reason but I’m happy I choose them as my friends. Even though they are my best friends, they are two different personalities. My two best friends have differences in their physical attribute, interests, and career choice.…

My friend Lianna is the most amazing friend anybody could ask for. We’ve been through so much together, we are destined to be sisters. We met on the first day of high school in English class, we were paired up to work on a project and then we introduced ourselves to each other and then we found out that we had a lot in common. Both of us were terrified of the massive size of the high school. She had the locker right next to mine. I told her I didn’t know anybody in our class and she said “You do now”. We’ve been friends ever since. Most boys think that Lianna is not very pretty and they make fun of her just because she’s Asian. She has long black hair, cascading over her shoulders. She laughs about everything and when she does, you see about a hundred white teeth- so bright, you almost need sunglasses. When she laughs, her eyes grow wide, casting a black shadow across the room. Lianna likes to dress kind of skater-ish, in sweatpants, sweatshirts, and bracelets. But, she’s very unpredictable, too. Sometimes she’ll wear a fancy dress or skinny jeans. She must have 4 closets full of clothes, because she barely wears the same outfit twice. Lianna is the most lively animated character I’ve ever known. She’s always rushing around trying to get the latest scoop on everyone. It’s like she’s in the FBI. Right before she shares important news, Lianna tosses back her dark black luscious hair, takes a deep breath, and quickly looks side to side making sure the coast is clear. She never says anything mean about people, she just wants to get the latest scoop and know what’s going on. She always supports me in everything I want to do. Not many girls in our group of friends play sports, but when I told Lianna I wanted to go out for basketball, she cheered me on and she said “Go for it”. Even though I didn’t make the team she was always my biggest fan during tryouts. Not only is lianna a tremendous supporter, she also trusts me to give her my…
