Food Inc. is an unflattering look inside America’s corporate controlled food industry directed by Robert Kenner and stared in by Michael Pollan, Eric Shlosser, Richard Lobb and many more.

Food Inc. started off as an opinion about the benefits of the industrial system. Then the movie turned dark when the companies didn’t want to give their opinions. They exert tremendous power over what we eat and how much — or how little — we know about food farming. (Robert Kenner, Filmmaker Statement, April 21, 2010). Food farming is a industrial scale crop production. A question that people really want to know is where our food we consume everyday comes from? People want to know these things because of their children’s health and their own. It also comes back to allergies and varies health problems. There are three main topics I would like to cover about the Food Inc. movie. This movie being very biased against industrial farming the movie doesn’t tell the whole truth. The topics I will discuss are GMO’s, factory farming, and the price of food production.

In the movie GMO’s are told to be a very bad thing. I can say that it wasn’t a good idea for Monsanto not to comment. When they didn’t discuss their opinion about the food industry it made things seem fishy. The movie then started downing GMO’s and what they are made to do. It’s a proven fact that the world’s population increases by 1.14 percent each year. (http://www.worldometers.info/world-population) Making the GMO an amazing attribute to the world’s population each year. A GMO is a genetically modified organism these organisms are manufactured to produce more yield faster. Without GMO’s the world would be at a stand still. The stand still would be the lack of food for the world. The prices would spike causing worldwide starvation. Only 2 percent of the world is in farming making it hard to produce enough food. When the GMO was produced for many different things such as fish and crops it allowed more food. When Food Inc. criticized GMO’s they never thought about their families! The stars think all about the money not their personal health. They also never thought about the prices of foods. If they think the prices are high now it wouldn’t hold a light to the situation. In the movie Food Inc. they discuss how GMO’s seem to cause cancer to develop in rats they have tested. What the average person doesn’t know is that rats are very probable to cancer. Experiments that scientist produce on rats are not proportional. Scientist give loads of the product to these small animals. That’s the same as giving to much medication to a small child. That small child will end up getting sick. This movie just made something that could be great into a nightmare. The way we will ever know if the real truth comes out of the closet.

The development of factory farming became a cheap way to produce varies types of meats and eggs. When Food Inc. shows what factory farms look like they show terrible examples. The videos inserted into the move where produced by PETA. PETA is a organization against the use of animals. Not all factory farms are the same as the ones in the movie. If those types of farms where in production, now they would be shut down in a heartbeat. There are many laws about the fair treatment of animals. In the correctly organized factory farms the production is great for the world’s economy. The large production of chickens, cows, and pigs make our food cheap. It also allows a great amount of income to the Untied States. Meat production is one of the greatest exports of America. It’s because of the abundance of corn the U.S. produces each year. Other counties don’t produce as much corn or other crops like us. Keeping the amount of feed of their animals lower. The reason for the abundance of feed is also because of GMO’s production of...
