There has been little awareness and understanding of food in America until the film Food Inc which helps show us how our food is produced, packaged and sold in our native stores. Our nation’s food supply is being controlled by a few amounts of corporations that often put their income ahead of customer health. It’s time that the truth is heard about what we are putting into our bodies, and what is being hidden from us by the food industry. The United States has grown so much in the food industry from the past. One of the industries which accounts for most of the market in the US is the meat packing industry. The top 5 meat industries controlled 25% of the market back in 1970, and now that number has risen to an outstanding 80% of the market (“100 Days of Real Food”). This is indeed a great accomplishment for our country; however what is the secret behind these companies success? The answer is simple; Make and sell cheap food products and end Americans don’t really know nor are aware where they are getting their food from until the film Food Inc. the film shows us how our food is produced, packaged and sold in the stores all around the world. It was very interesting seeing that our nation’s food is controlled by few amounts of cooperation’s that most likely put their income ahead in from of their customers health. I am glad that this video came out and we can exactly see what we the people are putting into our bodies and what is being hidden from us in the food industry.
