“Flowers for Algernon” and Charly

 “Flowers for Algernon” and “Charly” have some similarities in Characters, in Setting, and in Plot.

1. Characters (state four similarities)

• In both the movie and the book charly was not very smart and wanted to have the operation done to make him smarter. • In both the  movie and the book charly had to race the mouse Algernon in a maze to see charly’s progress • In both the  movie and the book charly Had good support from miss kinian • In both the movie and the book the guys at the factory were kinda mean to  charly and made fun of him.

2. Setting (state two similarities)

• In both the movie and the book Charly was at the apartment where he lived • In both the movie and the book Charly went to night school

3. Plot (state five similarities)

• Both of them end the same way with charly not being smart. • At the beginning  of both Charly was not good at paying attention. • After the operation Charly got very smart and then dumb again • In both the book and the movie Charly's coworkers pretended to be his friends, but really picked on him and made fun of him. • In both Charly went to a bar with the people he worked with and they ditched him.
