Floor Plan Site Survey Data Sheet

The following tables will help you gather the data necessary for analyzing each of the five floor plans in the Floor Plan Site Survey exercise. As you go through the exercise, complete the information in each table. The information gathered in this assignment will assist you in your final project.

Conference Center

Explain the major features of this floor plan. For example, are there large open spaces, large walls, cubes, or offices? | The conference center has concrete walls that interfere with the RF signals in the large conference room. Bathroom 1 bathroom receives a strong signal but bathroom 2 receives a weak signal due to the concrete wall between the two. Storage and phone switching receives no signal due to the distance between the AP and offices to the right. | Identify areas of this floor plan that may present issues when designing your network. Why will these areas present issues? For each area identified, what can you do to overcome the issue? | This floor plan present issues that are mainly due to location of data center, concrete walls and space. The large conference room RF signals are affected by an elevator and concrete walls which known for creating absorption. I suggest that we relocate the data center from the left side of the building to the center or add an additional AP in the large conference room to eliminate the possibility of expensive construction. By adding an additional AP, the storage and phone switching room can receive a stronger signal. The further right of the AP I tested, the weaker the signal would get so relocation or adding an additional AP closer to the center of the floor at its highest point ( Omni-Directional) would definitely help resolve these issues. | Based on your site survey, do you think that placing the wireless access point in the data center is an ideal location? Would you place it somewhere else in the building? Do

There are many factors involved in this scenario. For example, the building may lend itself to certain network designs. You may have multiple floors or a single floor, Multiple data closets or just one. You may have virtualized servers or desktops. You will want to accommodate all these into your design. 50% may seem like too much now, but realistically, 200 or 300% might be more accurate.…

    Art Structures

I initially chose this type of building structure because it's a simple public recreational building that I created. It contains 7 rooms on the first floor (2 gyms, workout room, ping pong/badminton, a storage room, a stairwell, and bathrooms) and 3 rooms on the second floor (Attendants lounge, main office, and advisor's office). The most important element of this design was the selection of where the rooms are to maximize easy traveling of the customers wants. For example, having easy access to the main bathrooms from most rooms or having multiple entrances to the upstairs stairwell. I chose to use brick for the building material because it provides a strong foundation and suites the look of a recreational building. As for potential problems of the design, there is no elevator to get to upstairs and there are no fire exits on the upstairs level, as well. I think that it was easier to create the floor plan, because it's based more on personal preference and what you feel would be the best way to set up the rooms. The elevation view is kind of hard to make up, because trying to pick an angle of the building that shows off the structure the most is difficult. It's very much easier to understand the floor plan because most stuff on a floor plan will usually be labeled and when looking at a specific angle through an elevation view, you typically can't really tell what's inside. All in all, I believe that the floor plan of the building gives much more information about the building itself. I think the instructions for this project are pretty…
