Lifetime Fitness & Wellness is much more than just a physical education class. Taking this course this semester, I have gained knowledge about my health that I can use for the rest of my life. Eating healthy, taking vitamins, and exercising daily are the key players in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Changing my eating habits was my first step in becoming healthy. I learned it is better to eat one large meal each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and to avoid eating junk foods. Unhealthy diets lead to several health complications and is the reason for the high obesity rate in America. Some diseases include diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, and cardiovascular disease.
The National Health Test taught me the importance of taking daily supplements. Taking vitamins helps maintain our health and makes up for the lack of specific nutrients in the foods we eat. Supplements such as fish oil, protein, and coconut oil provide our bodies with nutrients that most foods do not. However, taking birth control pills and eating soy beans is harmful to your body. Exercise is the key to a healthy lifestyle. Going to the gym at least three times a week really made a difference in my health. I am now able to maintain a healthy weight while toning my body and increasing my muscle strength. Daily exercise helped relieve stress and restore energy. Lifetime Fitness &Wellness was a very beneficial course. I gained knowledge about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and incorporated it into my everyday life. These routines will help promote my heath throughout the future. Eating healthy, taking vitamins, and exercising daily will now be a part of my life forever.
