2.1.BACKGROUND
INTRODUCTION SANGHADIP,a non profit making Voluntary Organization was founded in 1979,1st Nov, with the objective of providing multi-dimensional services to the Women and weaker persons of the society and Senior Citizens (Older Persons) taking the Community at large into account and at the same time to promote the environmental awareness in the state and to grow confidence in the minds of Senior Citizens. SANGHADIP is accountable, credible, transparent Voluntary Social Welfare Organisation recognized by the Planning Commission; Govt. of India started its journey from the year 1979.They render their benevolent services for the people in distress. To provide Housing facilities to the Older persons of the society and to fulfil their basic needs,working on gender empowerment, environmental care, establishing the consumer rights and empowerment of women etc. are the salient features of this Organization. SANGHADIP could develop a strong network withim North Tripura District for implementation of RCH programme as MNGO.SANGHADIP has implemented the programme through 4nos FNGOs. The organisation could contribute in the development of the underserved and un served population of the North Tripura District.The RCH project has been implemented in full swing on the specific indicators of RCH component.SANGHADIP works for awareness building of general mass,specially regarding mother and child and adolescent through puppet show ,Express media van,Exhibition on adolescent health and breast feeding workshop within North Tripura District.
