Technology Separates Young People from the Society
Shudev my younger brother returns from college, I see him heads straight to his room directly now-a-days. Moreover, he is always busy with his stuffs for instance his mobile, play station or computer whenever I go to meet him. Though, he lives a busy life in going to two coaching after his college time but he manages to keep himself engaged in these things somehow. He rarely talks to us though we live in the same house. Even when we family members come to have lunch or dinner together, he seems to be busy in texting or talking with friends. It is like he has locked himself into his own world what we cannot understand though he is a part of our family. Besides, he does not share what he is doing, how his days are going on, nothing to us. It is not like he is the only one who is behaving like this, I have seen other young people like him is using these technological devices during class time such as playing games or doing unnecessary works. They are adapting these activities and loosing interests in their regular life. These young people are more likely getting separated from the society because they are using mobiles and other technological gadgets a lot; keep themselves busy with social networking overtime and involving in cybercrimes. Initially, young people use technological gadgets especially mobiles in everywhere. Now-a-days mobiles are not only for communication. It has been developed immensely which can be compared with computers. Computers are such kinds of technologies which can gather huge amount of information and it also have a great influence on educational sector. Moreover, with the help of internet, the usage of computers boost to its highest level. Recently, mobiles like smart phones are compatible to many things that young people could do in computers. In getting information for study, people think these devices are helpful for students education but every invention’s bad usage are created automatically by the user. As it is all about education, now students adapt unfair means in examinations by their smart phones. For instance, as smart phones contain the application to read documents, students easily can copy lectures in the examinations. Furthermore, students use computers to change their poor grades to fool their parents. For example, I saw one of my college friends used this technique. He replaced the marks very well but in the long run he was the one who suffered. Similarly, media has a great influence over young people to ignore text books. “It’s changed young people’s assumptions about how to get an answer to a question” (Roberts, has cited Lewin, 2010). Because of technologies, students do not search answers from the text books though the questions are related to the text book, they search it in web which sometimes are not related to the text books. “I worry that young people won’t be able to summon the capacity to focus and concentrate when they need to” (Rideout, has cited in Stone, 2010). Looking at the screen for a long time might decrease the concentration on other things. Teenagers cannot focus to their studies as they keep busy with texting and calling their friends in phones. It is natural when a person focus too much on a certain thing then they will lose concentration on other matters. Young people are not that experienced to face all these tasks in such an early age. They are not mature enough to use technologies in every steps of their life or they might suffer in the long run.
Prior to that, technology helps young people especially teenagers to communicate throughout the country and world. These help to build their communication power. They can get feedback easily when they want to know something. That is how they create a social bonding among others online. Recently, use of social networks is faster way to get mixed with new environment or situation. On the contrary, usage of social networks kills a lot of time than spending with family members. Teenagers who use mobiles and other gadgets spend much more time than they calculate. Goessle (2011) has claimed “social networks have also tended to eat up lots of hours which can pass by without realization until it is too late”. As a result, they do not give proper time to their family life. Giving more time for social status on social networks takes huge time of spending with family members. As a result, young people get separated from family discussions. Then, family members do not give importance to them as they get absent in their valuable time. All these happen because they use too much time with online friends rather than family members. Coles (2012) has commented “their social skills are not being implemented because they have their heads buried in their phones as they are walking beside their friends”. Young people think sharing feelings with friends are more beneficial and acceptable than sharing with families. They do not think that family members are much more experienced with social problems that they are facing now. As a result teenagers now stay introverted with family members and stay extroverted with friends and outsiders.
Besides, using technological devices, youngsters can get up to date information about any topic they want to search. If it is about their study, they can turn on their computer, search through the internet and they will get it easily. They can get the news online about what is happening around the world. Same things can be done in smartphones recently. So, young people can get adequate information for their assignments and term papers even in mobiles. In contrast, when we are talking about internet, there is term comes cybercrime. May people are ruining their life in engaging with cybercrimes. Students who know to use technologies perfectly, they usually destroy their career by becoming an online hacker. They might think they can earn by hacking at their early age but it is a serious crime. That is why it is called cybercrime as most of the hacking is done by internet. They waste their valuable time using computers to make viruses, hacking information from restricted official websites to earn money illegally. They waste their time by doing this kind of work instead of study as a student. These hackers could be very useful as they are expert about technologies. Obono (2008) has mentioned a report about cybercrime in Nigeria in his article. He has mentioned the hackers were young people whose intensions were to get rich quickly. Obono (2008) has titled them ‘cyber fraud’ who have targeted rich people such as business men, women and have coned them through internet. Because of young hackers fault, nation and the whole country suffers. Obono (2008) has claimed “cybercrimes give our country a bad image and reputation.” Not only young people who commit cybercrime are segregated but also whoever commits it, the nation’s status goes down in the society.
Technology is made for better and comfortable living in this age. It is open for people in different ages. Technology is equal for everyone but no invention is complete without using it. An invention can be decided as good or bad. It is decided by its use. If it is used for good purpose then the invention is good. When the usage goes otherwise, then the technology is bad and the sufferer is humans. At present, technology is very much advanced. Work is so easy that we can do it with our mobile at any place. Yet, every people are not as advanced or skilled to use this. Young people are not that nature to use advanced technologies. As a result, they pick the bad thing by using technology. Coles (2012) has expressed young people sacrificed their own sleep to get in touch with their friends. Obesity has increased because of staying in front of the screen for a long time. Children, who are used to stay in front of television, computers, play stations etc. usually become fat and healthy. Too much fat of the body increases obesity. Young people who live this kind of become introvert. They do not behave friendly with others, not even with family members. So, too much use of technologies is not for young people. Otherwise, these youngsters might get separated eventually from the society.
To sum up, young generations are too much dependent on technology and as a result they are getting separated from the society because of over time usage of technological gadgets, keep busy with social networking for communication and involving in cybercrimes. These activities are still going on. Many talented children are engaging themselves in many crimes and also getting sick by adapting this activity. Recently, they are frustrated all the time because they always keep themselves busy in front of the screen. First and foremost thing to reduce this is families should come forward to understand their feelings. Though young people always try to keep a distance from families, family members should be more careful with them. Then, they will also be free with the members and will be helpful to them. Next, siblings should share their feelings; help all the time when they are at home. Moreover, birthday parties and family picnics will help them to get out from their monotonous life. Also, media should show some precautionary shows which reflect the consequence. As a brother, I am trying best to support my younger brother and told my family members to be more helpful instead of getting angry. I hope these attempts will bring a positive result from my brother.

As globalization affects every corner of the modern world, those who fail to adopt the free market, liberalized, and interconnected system simply cannot compete on the global market. The war against communism lead by the United States allowed for the spread of capitalist ideas that would allow this global market to flourish. In simple economic terms, a global capitalist system allows for countries to use their comparative advantage in order to most efficiently allocate their resources in the form of imports and exports. This proves to be such an economic catalyst that the world has witnessed its necessity in cases such as the utter failure that is the isolationist Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea. While Adam Smith’s famous “invisible hand” of the free market would simply be too restricted under any normal communist rule, China has become the center of much debate. Whether it is a vegetarian steakhouse, a littering environmentalist, or an Argentinian Pele fanatic, such obvious contradictions seem so abstract that, “it strips the original thing of all meaning”5. Capitalism within a Communist party seems hypocritical enough. However, since President Jiang Zemin allowed a capitalist economy to join the Chinese Communist party in the 1990s, China as a nation has experienced nothing but immense progress. Do not expect an influx in communist capitalism however. The timing of China’s development as a nation coincided perfectly with the development of the utmost and paramount device of modern day globalization: the Internet.…

During the Vietnam War the United States Army had to deal with another type of warfare, which they had never seen. The United States usually fought a traditional type of war, where the country that occupied the most land was supposedly the winner. However, that all changed when the United States Army entered Vietnam. Throughout the Vietnam War, multiple non-traditional warfare tactics used by the Viet Cong confused the U.S. troops and made it very difficult for the U.S. to defeat the Viet Cong. Guerrilla warfare, specifically tunnels, booby traps and quick, stealthy attacks caused the U.S. to fight a war of attrition and forced new tactics including technological advances, chemical warfare, and severe bombing.…

There are variety races and colors of people living in this world, and different ethnics and economic situations cause the distance among races. Though there are many people who have overcome the prejudice from history, prejudice and discrimination still exist today. Vincent N. Parrillo wrote an essay, “Causes of Prejudice”, provided the origin and many causes of prejudice and looked at prejudice from a psychological and sociological stand points. And Malcolm X tells the process of his independent learning of critical and creative thinking about racial problems in his essay, “Learning to Read”. Another essay authored by Studs Terkel, “C.P. Ellis”, provided Ellis’ story that offers a credible way of how he removed his prejudice. Both Malcolm X and C.P. Ellis are examples of what have been written in “Causes of Prejudice”, and the causes of prejudice can perfectly explain the behaviors of Malcolm X and C.P. Ellis. So, racial prejudice can be categorized into two factors: psychological factors such as beliefs, emotions, personality, and unsatisfied expectations, and social factors such as socialization process and social norms. People should learn to understand the underlying reasons of causing prejudice, open their eyes and minds to the reality, go out of socialization process and their social norms, and finally to overcome the prejudice and discrimination.…

I enjoy and listen to variety of music from classical music to rap music. I have attended many concerts, mostly symphony bands concerts. I have attended many of my sisters’ honor band concerts. However, interestingly, through whole my life, I have never experienced jazz music and I have never been to jazz concert. This was my first time attending a Jazz concert. Therefore, I didn’t know what kind of music to expect or any music that I was familiar to. This concert was a new experience for me. It was far different from a Hip Hop concert held in some big venue. The purpose of this concert was to show the talent of the future musicians in the art community of Lone Star College: North Harris Campus. Therefore, it was hard for me to decide which jazz concerts would give me most pleasure and exciting experience. I researched for jazz concerts listing and I decided to go to the concert they had at North Harris in April 27, 2015. One of the reason I went to this concert was, that it was in campus, it was free, and my Music Appreciation teacher mention it in class.…

Less than 20 years ago, all that kids needed to be active and entertained was fresh air and an open place to run about, letting their imaginations run free while chasing their friends whom happened to be the cops and robbers in their imaginary game. There were not such things such as a need for Wi-Fi in a young kids mind, or a newfound pain in their neck from sitting hunched over while typing away on a cell-phone. Even though technology has brought about new ways of communication, it has brought change to the once simple lifestyles of the youth, not only introducing problems with obesity, but things such as sleep deprivation and hearing loss. The incorporation of technology has had extreme pressure on morals and daily lives of the youth in a negative way. Although technology has helped in many ways, it has also begun controlling and slowly corrupting the lives of teenagers.…
