Close your eyes and imagine that you woke up late for your morning class. Hustling to leave the house, you didn’t stop to have breakfast nor did you check your purse/wallet to ensure you had enough money. After class you then decided to head on down to the cafeteria to grab a bite, but after searching you bag realized that you only have $2.00. Now for the entire day you’re hunger! Your stomach begins growling and burning, your head throbbing. This is not a joke, nor is it a pleasant situation to be in. I’ve been hungry before, I’ve missed a couple of meals; I know the feeling, big deal, but could you imagine being so hungry that you others are able to see and count all the bones in your body? Good morning everyone today my topic is about fighting against hunger. No one, nowhere at no time should go hungry a quote by Ed Asner. Every day billions of people go hungry and many individuals still enjoy the luxury of having abundant access to food supplies. Hence the reason, I offended find myself asking this simply but yet difficult question “why is it those who are fortunate and overly fortunate cannot donate some of their many luxuries to those deprived of a healthy substantial life?” Hunger can have a very powerful effect on one’s body. It can cause any individual to become so disoriented and delusional that their normal body functions eventually stops. Think about someone in such a situation. According to (Bickle, 1994) ‘poverty is the main cause of hunger in the world today; parents are unable to provide the basic necessities such as food, and clean water to their families. In addition to this horrible finding, the world’s economy is on a downward spiral and the hunger epidemic is significantly increasing more families than ever before are struggling for survival.
