Summary
OM Foundation is a charity trust which focuses on providing free quality education and healthcare services to the under privileged children. Two most important aspects of the organization are as follows: • • Currently the organization focuses on providing education and basic health care facilities. In the near future the organisation is planning to provide skill development programmes to youth and get them placed in various jobs.

Internal considerations Current financial resources of the organisation are pretty decent with the funding coming from corporate connections. Major funders include British Gas, EXL and Smile Foundation. The organisation has a dedicated full time staff on pay rolls for the trust and the school. The school staff is qualified and skilled in the work they do.

External considerations One of the external factors in consideration of fund raising would be current and potential future economic conditions. Considering the present scenario, the economic condition in India is getting better and there is a better chance of increasing corporate funding and more corporations coming in to fund the organisation’s activities. Other factor can be presence of other similar organisations in the locality which also would be looking for various sources of funding in the vicinity. A closer look to their approach would provide good insights as to how to bag the sponsorships before than other organisations.

Overview
Attention of the donors and sponsors can be gathered by clearly, coherently, and consistently communicating about the organisation and what services it provides. Few of the organisation’s strengths are that it is a very well established in the neighbourhood and has a good reputation and looks strong as far as the future is concerned. Current organisational needs revolve around the financial need for food and medical care facilities and to sustain the improvement in medical facilities. Also the need arises because of the new plans for providing skill development programs. In the past the only sources of fundraising have been through corporate sponsorship which have been contacted primarily through private networks of the founders and trust members. The organisation is well respected and reputed in the area and so there is enough credibility for them to go for further fund raising. The organisation per say hasn’t undertaken any specific awareness programs but their good work has come to notice and resulting in organisations to themselves come forward for the funding of various activities of OM Foundation.

Activities
As a part of my field visit I visited the OM Foundation school everyday and intereacted with the teachers, school management, principal and the students to see how the school functioned and how different members...
