Fiction Story - Martin Luther King’s Quote
Fiction Story - Martin Luther King’s Quote
There was a boy named George who is born on 4th December 1982. He has a rare disorder disease which is characterised by having three feet instead of two. When George was a child, he struggled mentally, emotionally and even physically. His parents and friends are very encouraging as they always supported George with love and care. He has learnt to overcome his weakness and now is trying to find his strength. Although George has three legs, it never stopped him joining his friends in movies, sports or swimming heats. He is very inspirational and a good friend to his classmates. George practice extra hard to gain over his disadvantage of extra limb especially swimming. He learnt how to use his extra leg to give him extra strength to propel forward.
Last Olympic which is held in Beijing, George represented Singapore to go to the Olympic to take part in the final swimming relay. He won the bronze medal.
George is very determined as he always persists and never ever gives up even when situation looks hard or even impossible. George has some traits of a good teacher for example he is a role model, sociable and he is very hard working.
I think he represent this quote by Martin Luther King very well, “If you can’t fly, then run; if you can’t run then walk. If you can’t walk then crawl but whatever you have to keep moving forward”.

The pressure of racial segregation was reaching a boiling point in 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama. After being arrested for his part in the Birmingham Campaign, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote an open letter in response to “A Call for Unity”, written by eight white clergymen from Birmingham. King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" is a true call for unity, as he clearly states and points out facts that the clergymen have omitted from their letter. King is clearly not looking to stoke the fire of segregation; he was merely looking to solve the situation at hand and trying to peacefully end racial segregation in the United States. “A Call for Unity”, written in early April 1963 (Jonathan, 12-18).…

“The practice of violence, like all action, changes the world, but the most probable change is to a more violent world” (Arendt pg 80). Violence is contagious, like a disease, which will destroy nations and our morals as human beings. Each individual has his or her own definition of violence and when it is acceptable or ethical to use it. Martin Luther King Jr., Walter Benjamin, and Hannah Arendt are among the many that wrote about the different facets of violence, in what cases it is ethical, the role we as individuals play in this violent society and the political aspects behind our violence.…

Martin Luther King Jr. once stated that “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” This means that if you want to judge a person, look to see how they act in times of trouble and hardship. Anyone can act calm when they’re doing nothing and everything’s all hunky dory. But only a good person can remain just as calm and positive in times of crisis and stress. “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller and After by Francine Prose can support that this quote is indeed true in all aspects.…
