Andrea Jung, Indra Nooyi, and Brenda Barnes are three remarkable women in the world of business but even more than that they are superior leaders in their field. Andrea Jung is the CEO of one of the largest woman based companies, Avon Products. Indra Nooyi is the CEO of PepsiCo a worldwide company with locations in over 70 countries. Brenda Barnes was the first women CEO of PepsiCo and went on to Lead Sara Lee until her recent stroke. The Concept of influence processes
The influence process is the interpersonal way in which changes in the group member’s thoughts are altered. This change could be internal a change in the mission or culture or it could be external a change in a supplier or acquisition. This process is formed from five different methods used to influence. These methods are Direct Decisions, Allocation of Resources, Reward System, Selection and Promotion of Other Leaders, and Role Modeling. Direct Decisions is the leaders having the ability to form the decisions of the followers based on the level of control with regards to the vision and mission of the organization. Allocation of Resources is when upper level management determines a new direction or project to take on. Traditionally these new projects are to further the organization’s mission. Selection and Promotion of Other Leaders is a method of selecting those who best fit the culture and structure of an organization. The followers that meet their deadlines and goals are traditionally the ones being promoted. Reward System at first thought is monitory but that is not always the case, it can be a special project, a transfer or promotion to a different department or field. And Finally Role Modeling is when a passion of the leader becomes a goal or even part of the culture for the company.
