As we walked into our own charter bus, on the day of Thanksgiving, we started to realize that we had just walked into our worst nightmare, yet an amazing dream. This year thanksgiving was going to be completely different from the past ones. My team and I were going to a tournament filled with college scouts at Dallas. We were going to spend our entire break playing soccer. We were going to come back home, covered in purple and blue bruises in all shapes and sizes. Also, we were going to come back like newly transform zombies. Walking very slowly and moaning in pain at the slightest movement. Nevertheless, it was an extravagant Thanksgiving that we were able to experience. Most families would spend their Thanksgiving together. Yet, we were not a related, we were three different teams, mix to make two teams. However, we were able to put aside the hostility and rivalry among each other and become one colossal soccer family. Once we had reach Dallas, no one knew what to expect of the hotel our coach was able to attain for the week. Most assume a cheap hotel, like Holiday Inn. However, we were wrong. When we walked in, you could hear the amazement in the gasp the whole team took in sync. We were left speechless as we walked into our hotel, a beautiful palace. It felt like we walked into a Disney movie and we were the royalty. Once we were all settled into our rooms, we explored the palace, like children in a amusement park. We did this quickly, because we had to go to bed soon. We woke up the next morning before the sun did. Half the girls were sleep-walking onto the bus, but as soon as we arrive to our tournament, everyone was filled with nerves, and fear. College scouts were going to be there watching us and we did not know what to expect from the other teams. We lost terribly the first game, but coach said that did not matter, we were there to show-off our skills. Our next game, the same outcome happen, but we perform much better. We went back to

As the day started with the sound of cars passing by with the engine roaring, I knew it was time to go. I awoke from a dream that a 17-year would have about sports, specifically a 17-year old with the championship game, that happened to be on that day as well. I had the utmost confidence that my teammates and I will be able to deliver something that couldn’t be done by the last “dream team.” Those players had the utmost belief in each other and seemed that they knew where each person would go. It seemed they had a psychological connection, which I presume came from the relationship they had off the court. I would see them roaming the hallways with a smile that would give anyone belief that they can achieve those miracles. As time passed they grew older, flew towards a new goal. One became an assistant coach at UC Berkeley, one is fighting to become one of the starters and prove his worth at Washington State, and others stayed at community College still hoping there dream of playing college basketball becomes a reality. Now, after those long practices where you had players saying…

Along the road, I imagined the bright lights of the chandelier hanging from the roof, the beautiful arch that led to the wooden kitchen, and the dragon sculpture sitting on the ledge behind the dinner table. Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by the stopping screech of the tires and the announcement that we had arrived at our destination. I hurriedly pushed the car door and started running to the front door. Without pushing the doorbell, my cousin opened the door and immediately grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. It was Thanksgiving, and my family was celebrating it at one of my aunt’s house. Like most little kids, my cousin and I were ecstatic and ran around the house. When dinner was ready, everybody gathered around the kitchen table.…

I pictured how it was last Christmas when you opened the door you were hit by the smell of pine form the trees, the sound of laughter echoed through the walls, as you walk into the sitting room there stood this big tree being overwhelmed with present. The sound of the cracking fire and boots snoring, boots was grandmother’s cat and all she used to do is curl up in front of the fire and sleep. 1. One of my favorite Holidays is 4th of July. A few years ago my dad and I went to Washington to pick out some illegal fireworks. So we went to the Black Cat firework store . I got some mortars and roman candles and all the fun fireworks you could think of. So the day before 4th of July we were lighting off a few roman candles and all of a sudden a under cover police car pulled into our driveway and the police officer inside the car said “are you lighting off illegal fireworks?” because he saw me with the roman candles, and my dad said “yes” so the police officer confiscated all the fireworks we had bought and were fined a thousand dollars. We did get our ticket reduced down to $250 because we attended a fire works class. This definitely opened my eyes to the danger of fire works. From that day forward, I’ve learned not to do anything your not supposed to do, like buy illegal fireworks.…
