Fast Food
Fast food nutrition should make up a minimal part of a healthy diet. Fast foods and junk foods are high in fat, sodium and sugar, which can lead to obesity and a range of attendant health problems, including diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. Here are the facts about how excessive junk food consumption affects your body.
Junk Food Affects Your Energy Levels
Junk food doesn't contain the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. As a result, you may feel chronically fatigued and lack the energy you need to complete daily tasks. The high levels of sugar in junk food puts your metabolism under stress; when you eat refined sugar, your pancreas secretes high amounts of insulin to prevent a dangerous spike in blood sugar levels.
Because fast food and junk food don't contain adequate amounts of protein and good carbohydrates, your blood sugar levels will drop suddenly after eating, leaving you feeling grumpy, fatigued and craving sugar.
Junk Food Contributes to Poor Performance and Obesity
Junk food contains large amounts of fat, and as fat accumulates in your body, you'll gain weight and could become obese. The more weight you gain, the more you'll be at risk for serious chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. You could even have a heart attack.
The high levels of fat and sodium in junk food can cause high blood pressure or hypertension. Excessive dietary sodium can also have a negative effect on renal function, even leading to kidney disease.
In the short term, high levels of dietary fat lead to poor cognitive performance. You'll feel tired and have trouble concentrating because your body might not be getting enough oxygen.
Junk Food Can Damage Your Liver and Your Heart
The high levels of fat and sodium in junk food and fast food can contribute to heart disease by raising blood cholesterol levels and contributing to arterial plaque build up. The high levels of trans fatty acids found in many junk foods and fast foods can lead to fatty liver deposits, which, over time, can cause liver dysfunction and disease.
Junk Food Can Lead to Diabetes
Over time, the high levels of sugar and simple carbohydrates in junk food can lead to type 2 diabetes. This occurs because eating too much sugar puts your metabolism under stress; when you eat a lot of refined white sugar and simple carbohydrates, your body has to pump up insulin production to prevent a dangerous spike in blood sugar levels.
Because junk food doesn't contain the protein or complex carbohydrates that your body needs to maintain consistent blood sugar levels, your blood sugar levels will drop suddenly soon after eating. You'll crave sugar and likely end up eating more junk food.
Over time, this stress damages your body's ability to use the insulin secreted by your pancrease. A healthy diet can help maintain your body's insulin sensitivity.
Even in the short term, eating too much junk food can make you feel really uncomfortable. It can lead to mood swings and constipation, and lower your energy levels so that you lack interest in the exercise you need to burn off those extra calories.

Nowadays there are a lot of different cousins, and it is also not a secret that everyone can order it sitting at home. I would like to discuss about the loveliest food of young generation - fast food. So let me start with the good characteristics of this food and further we will see it from all the sights. For the first it delicious and of course fast - you need not waste a time for cooking. Because of it a lot of people think, that it is a perfect way to give up cooking, but we must not forget, that fast food also can harm our health, dew to it high food concentrate which has a lot of harmful additions. As for me, I sometimes eat fast food, but I try to give up eating such products as Coca-cola, crisps and hamburgers. I would not deny and say such words, that I will never eat fast-food, because I am a student and I lead active life and unfortunately sometimes I just even have to eat it, because it helps me not to waste a lot of time and it is not so expensive. Of course, I think about the bad sides of fast-food, but what can I do if the forbidden things are delicious. There is no such thing as a "bad" food. All foods can fit into a healthy meal plan. It's true that fast food is usually high in fat, calories, cholesterol, and sodium, but eating fast food every once in a while is not going to cause you problems. If you eat too much fast food over a long period of time, though, it can lead to health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity.
To sum up all things which were given higher, I can only add that all people should make their own decisions and choose which of two ways they prefer the best: to eat fast-food or do not.
Remember: Try to balance fast food with other nutritious foods throughout the day and make healthier choices whenever possible. There are many healthy food choices that are easily available, tasty, and don't cost very much that can be eaten on the go.
First of all, fast food has been proven to be one of the causes that can lead to heart disease and obesity. Look at the many fast food menus and you will always see hamburgers, other meat and chicken cooked in oil and of course french fries. All these foods are cooked in oil which is full of harmful fats. It is these fats that cause problems with our arteries which may lead to heart disease. In addition, people nowadays are working longer hours and exercising less. They do not have enough time to go home and cook a meal after a long day at work. It is much easier to drive into a fast food restaurant, order and pay and then drive away. At many places you do not even have to get out of your car. Eating fast food and reducing exercise can only lead to health problems.

Secondly, fast food also affects family relationships. In the past families were a strong unit. This strong relationship was helped by the family sitting together and eating together. Problems were discussed and solutions found while eating dinner. Nowadays with streets full of fast food places and advertising on every corner and every channel on TV, young people, especially young men, prefer meeting their friends and going to fast food restaurants. Staying at home and eating with the family is not considered ‘cool’. As a consequence parents are seeing less and less of their children and there is no ‘quality time’ where parents and children are able to sit down and discuss things. The family relationship begins to break down.

In conclusion, while fast food will never disappear, it is the responsibility of the parents to guide and educate their children in regard to good eating habits. Also asking children to be home for meals so families may eat and talk together will keep the family relationships strong.

However, this change in diet can have some serious effects. One effect is on health. Many individuals in the UAE are becoming obese. These people will be less productive and have conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.Another result of fast food culture is the loss of the family tradition of eating together.Children and adults rarely eat together now, and thus get less opportunity to talk.A further effect is on the economy.Although fast food is not very expensive, it is more expensive than cooking properly for yourself. Many of the fast-food companies are franchisees of foreign corporations, so profits leave the country.
In conclusion, fast food, although it is convenient and a tasty addition to a diet, can have serious health and social effects.People should learn to choose fast food carefully and remember the pleasure of eating good food in good company.
Obesity and overweight have in the last decade become a global problem - according to the World Health Organization (WHO) back in 2005 approximately 1.6 billion adults over the of age 15+ were overweight, at least 400 million adults were obese and at least 20 million children under the age of 5 years were overweight.
According to research fast food is related to obesity because of its high percentage of fat. Obesity is when your body has more fat than it needs. This can give off a bad effect because your body will be heavier to carry around and also it makes you lazy and is not good for your health. This maybe the reason why more than 60 percent of Americans are obese; Americans go to fast food restaurants like it is their house because they go there so often. People might think that obesity just makes you look bad on the outside but, they should also consider the inside.

Junk food contains large amounts of fat that over time accumulate in your body and cause rapid weight gain. The more fat is stored in your body, the higher risk you have for developing heart problems that could lead to a heart attack. Heart disease develops from plaque build-up in the arteries. With that build up, your heart can’t pump blood through them and your arteries become blocked, most times leading to a heart attack. Along with heart disease, increased fat can slow down cognitive performance. This means that you will be tired and have trouble concentrating and your brain will not be receiving the right amount of oxygen needed to remain focused.…

"Sugar may cause as many deaths as cigarette smoking, perhaps even more… but no one is sounding the alarm." - Dr. Scott Olson, ND, author of Sugarettes: Sugar Addiction and Your Health. Junk food does not give the body enough nutrients, rather it highly causes diseases among consumers. Some of which are not included in high sugar content or fats, and of which overconsumption of such goods will result in adverse results in the human body, such as obesity. Sugar is directly converted to fat by your body thus the more sugar you eat, the fatter you will be. Along with obesity high sugar beverages and snacks can cause the blood sugar to increase (hyperglycemia). Hyperglycemia can damage the vessels that supply blood to vital organs, which can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, kidney disease, vision problems, and nerve problems in people with diabetes. Perhaps the more common one among citizens engaging in excess high sugar products is type 2 diabetes. If a person lacks exercise and is obese their bodies will not produce the hormone insulin thus the body cannot break down food…
