In the past people used to eat healthy food with their families. However for today, many people, particularly young people, prefer to eat fast food such as hamburger, pizza, fried chicken, or shawarma. Fast food is the food that can be prepared and served very quickly. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered to be fast food, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients and served to the customer in a packaged form for take away/take out. Fast food increases the rate of obesity, excessive Sodium Intake and increases the cholesterol level.

Fast food increases the rate of obesity. Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems. Studies have found a direct link between fast food consumption and weight gain and increases the Body Mass Index (BMI). Obesity has been ranked the number one health threat for Americans, it is also the second leading cause of preventable death in United States which claims up to 400,000 lives a year. Obesity can lead to type 2 diabetes, heart problems, hyper tension, blocked arteries, increase in cholesterol levels, malnutrition, loss of muscle mass and depression. Eating fast food regularly does more to  children’s bodies than packing on the pounds and also increase their risk of developing asthma and allergies.

In addition, excessive of Sodium Intake in humans body. Fast foods contain high amounts of sodium which can lead to hypertension and high blood pressure. Adults need only 1500 mg of sodium each day, children need only 1000-1500 mg of sodium a day and people aged 14 and over should eat not more than 2300 mg of sodium each day. This is known as the Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL). A sodium intake above 2300 mg a day is likely to present a health risk. Although small amounts of sodium is needed...
