Can the violence of ones action be forgiven?

Is our city safe from the violence that lingers in our city and streets of Toronto?   Many say that violence beings at home, or in bad neighbor hoods with low income housing and kids that have no were to go after school. As are youth of today look towards gang related violence to fill there time, in stead of after school activities or sports, that would be beneficial for them. For most youth this is a reality that is real and true that hits close to home, most parents want to see there children do better than they have, and try there best in achieve this by working two jobs making sure they but, food on the table and making sure that the try and raise there kids as best as they can.

What happens when one day the apple of your eye who was raised to aim for the stars end up with a 9-mm pistol and opens fire and shouts at a TTC driver in the face. Blinding him in one eye and with peripheral vision in the other, for Jaime Pereira this was devastating and unexpected incident, one day you wake, up go to work, and the unmentionable happen. How does one really cope with such a tragedy and look passes, at what has happened and move on. The psychological impact that this has on Pereira has no word to describe.

As reading the article and sensing as how Pereira feels as stating that the words that Chalmers wrote were to late for his admiration as how sorry he is for shouting Pereira; being in a profound situation like this one, I can only imagine his feeling. As reading and picturing the events that happened on the night of October 15 2005, had me feel sad and resentment all at the same time. I would look at the world differently and be so enclosed in my self, that I would not be able to be the same for a long time. I would feel helpless and a burden all at the same time, for my family; and the world as I once knew would be the end for me, I would rather Chalmers have killed me rather be a wounded animal.
