Magea was born in Asu and developed his atrocious reputation there. At the peak of his power, Magea lived in a secret and secure cave above Nu’uuli village. The site was known as Taotasi: (“ the Lone Spear”)

The lost of Sina’s son:
Magea brothers judged Sina’s son guilty of some offense he did not commit and sentenced him to die. Sina’s pleadings went unheeded. She then begged for her son’s head. Rest of the body was divided to the Magea brothers.

Right arm & shoulder: elder brother, who established himself at Nu’uuli< saluted as Itu’au Malosi(“the strong side”) Other arm & shoulder : founders of Malaeloa village.
The other brother took his part to Lauli’i and created Leatisua< famous house of orators. Last brother moved to ‘Aoa and founded the Leatimanutui< another political powerhouse of the past. The respect and recognition of these traditional political divisions remain to this day. Together, they are known as the Atimagea< (“stems or roots of Magea”) Saddened by the loss of her son, Sina became a recluse in her cave, caring for the head of the dead son. Head turned into an eel.

Large eel would exit from the cave every so often in response to singing and food presented in fresh woven baskets. Eel was led to dry ground, slain, and apportioned to the families. Forest of Tutuila: rugged and mountainous

The snarers built a house for Magea so that he would go in it and respect the silence. Magea had a rope strung across the road at Nu’uuli. If anyone was to touch it, they will be the feast of the day. A man named Malauulu beated Magea in a wrestling match.
