The reason for me to be writing this essay is for not being to attend to my first formation. The reason for that to happen is that I never woke up, never heard my alarm. There is no excuse for that I was being irresponsible. The first formation is one of the most important things in the military. Because is us for accountability and to brief the soldier on what’s going on in the day and what need to happen before the end of the day. Being punctual in the military is very important it shows what kind of soldier you are and it shows respect to the unit ant for those is command. Also is very important to always be punctual for example if a soldier is not punctual in the battlefield it could cost lots of life in case their hit by enemy forces. Every soldier needs to be punctual doing their respective jobs. If a soldier knows that he’s going to be late the proper way of doing it is to notify he’s chain of commands and let them know that he will be running late. Like I said before there is no excuse for being late but this action most not continue or happen again because it will affect the soldier’s career. For me I don’t want this to happen again I want to be a good soldier with leadership to progress in my military career. The first step I need to put in action is making sure I am always accounted that means being always in time to my first formation and of course also being at the right place. A good way of making of sure that you will be on time in setting up a timeline 15 to 20 minutes before the specified time. This is a simple task that is really easy and painless to follow through it will not be a problem to be accomplished. That will be a good example of being on time base on the actual dictionary definition of the word punctuality “acting or arriving exactly at the time appointed”. Punctuality shows that you are a responsible soldier, trustworthy and able to follow orders. Those will open doors in your military career like promotions and special tasks or

This Plan of action is ambiguous and confusing. From the oral statements that were made from you I believe you wish for me to write a 1500 word essay on the (Importance of Accountability in the army) i.e.: appropriate place of duty, proper place and proper time. I Pride myself on being a soldier that is accountable for his actions at all times. The reason for this essay is, I did not follow proper orders and was not at my correct place of duty for work call, due to miscommunication through higher, but there is still no excuse for me to be undisciplined and not informing my chain. A soldier should be at right place and right time as soldier. There are many reasons why you should be at your place of duty at the right time as a soldier. The most important reason being the soldier’s safety and accountability. That’s why it’s implemented by the NCO's appointed over them. NCO’s tells you that you need to be at a location, on time; therefore you need to be there. Your NCO is only trying to help you. NCO’s want what is best for soldier’s. This shows structure in soldiers in and the soldiers' unit. As soldiers there are daily missions that call for them to be at the right place and right time. It's not a good look on a soldier when they can’t do a simple task such right place and right time. This actually shows that the soldier can’t be depended on when they are needed. This hinders a soldier when they are being look at for any promotions or special awards. As a soldier you want to make a great impression on leaders and not being able to make it on time is not acceptable. It would make things run much smoother when solders are at the appropriate place of duty on time all the time. If no one is at the right place and right time it sets the mission back.…

This one thousand word essay that I am writing today is to explain what the importance of accountability formation is. Accountability formation is held every duty day to ensure the safty and well being of all personell within the company or battalion. Accountability starts, at most times, at 0630 hrs for physical training. During this time the First Sgt accounts for the safty and well being of his NCOs who in turn account for the safty and well being of their soldiers. If a soldiers or NCO does not arrive for 0630 formation then every attempt must be made to conntact the missing soldier or NCO.…

I am writing this essay as a plan of action because I managed to miss a scheduled appointment. Missing a scheduled appointment may seem like a rather minute infraction but if you think about it and trace it back far enough it has a negative impact on all parties involved it effects the army as a whole, the government, tax dollars, every American and possible most of the population of the planet even if they don’t know it or feel an impact from it on some level even if insignificant it effects civilization as a whole. I had an appointment with the Army Substance Abuse Program scheduled for Tuesday the 13 of November at 13:00 in the afternoon. On this particular Tuesday I was also scheduled for an appointment with my son off-post. These two things were an obvious scheduling conflict and would had require my wife to call off from work to be able to take my son to his appointment, in order for me to attend the scheduled appointment that was with the Army Substance Abuse Program. Regardless of whether this actually happened or not it was my responsibility to make it happen, both for me, my kid and the army to attend my appointment. I ultimately failed to attend my appointment and as a result I was negatively counseled for my actions and lack of reasonability. In this counseling I was instructed that my plan of action would be for me to write a one thousand word essay due to the fact that I missed the scheduled appointment and I was instructed that it would be due to be turned in no later than Monday the twenty sixth of November.…

Being on time is important in everything you do especially in the military. By not being on time you can cause problems for not just you but other people as well. For instance if you are to be replacing someone and you are not on time you can make that person late because they had to wait for you. By just one person being late can disrupt the events of an entire day. An example of this is a platoon is going out to a field exercise for training and a soldier is late by fifteen minutes that can cause that entire platoon to be behind in getting out to the field exercise disrupting the agenda set by the platoon leader and platoon sargent. If you are late to an appointment you are taking up valuable time that could be used by another person. Another reason it is always important to be on time is if you are going to a job interview and you are not on time you could loose the position because it is a first impression of how your work ethic could be. Even if you just make plans with some friends to see a movie, you should be on time because if you are late you and your friends will miss part of the movie. In the military you can receive sever punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for not being on time. Some of the consequences can include loss of rank, loss of pay, and having to pull extra duty while under restriction. Repeatedly being late in the military could lead to a discharge from service. Similarly if you are constantly late for civilian employment you will face punishment that could include having your hours cut back, your earnings garnished, or possibly fired from that position. After creating a history of being late to a point that you are let go from your job, it can become difficult to find future employment due to the fact that employers will contact your previous line of employment to find out why you were released from your position within that company. Further more after making a history to your friends, family and your employers of not…

The dictionary defines punctual as: Acting or arriving exactly at the time appointed; prompt. Under the rigid and disciplined structure of military life there is no margin for error. The slightest modicum of hesitation or procrastination can result in the tragic loss of innumerable lives. There are many circumstances where a failure to be prompt could have dire consequences. Under certain circumstances not arriving for guard duty at the designated time could allow a breach of security that could ultimately end in the brutal murder of your peacefully slumbering, unsuspecting battle buddies at the zealous hands of our insurgent foes. Choosing an example from a different segment of the spectrum of responsibility, we see how a noncommissioned officer’s failure to release his soldiers in a timely manner can affect the combat effectiveness of the entire unit. If this leader’s long windedness results in a soldier consistently being released to go on shift without enough time to eat, the soldier may resort to eating junk food to prevent his stomach from reaching a painful, distended state. Over time these seemingly minor indiscretions on the part of this senior noncommissioned officer could culminate in the sum total of a malnourished, ineffectual soldier. Keeping in mind that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, the callused behavior of one leader can exponentially reduce the combat readiness of an entire unit.…

The definition of accountability comes from the state of being accountable; liability to be called on to render an account; the obligation to bear the consequences for failure to perform as expected; accountableness. The importance of being on time accounted for is because lets say that you do not come back to formation after you go out on a convoy then they know that you are missing. If you do not show up and you do not respond on the radio there is going to possibly be a search team for you. If they do send a search team for then that puts that entire team at risk while looking for you. Point of accountability formation is to make sure all of your soldiers are there and that they are all accounted for. If one person is not accounted for then the entire formation does not leave. It is not just the fact that everyone is accounted for it is part of your military duty to be at formation and at movement. If you do not make it to formation or movement it is punishable by UCMJ. It could be the end of your career. Not only will it ruin everything that you have gone through and wasted your time but you are also letting your buddies down and if you can not show up to formation what makes you think that they can trust you in being there in the time of need. If you can not be there then what is your team going to think when they hear over the radio that you are on the way and you are the only one that can help them. They are going to be like what that is the only person we have well we are al good as dead. Accountability does not end in the army life it also goes into civilian world. When you have a job in the civilian world they are looking for someone that can be on time and do the job but the second that you are not on time your accountability starts to go down the drain.…

By not being accounted for I have let my unit down and failed in the missions that needed to be completed. I have not set a good examples for my Soldiers in my squad or fellow NCO’s. I did not lead by example. As a non commissioned officer I should have used better judgement. I can’t expect my chain of command to entrust Soldier’s to me if I cannot be accountiable for my actions. I truly regret not having better accountability of myself. I have caused work to be late due to the fact that I let my personal issues cloud my judgement. It will not happen again. I need to ensure that I always strive to do better and achieve all of the goals in which I have set forth. I now realize that no matter what issue I am having that I need to communicate better with my chain of command so that they can help me. If I would have communicated more with my chain of command then there would not have been an issue with my wear abouts. I need to ensure that I am in the proper place at all times and if I am not then I need to ensure that someone knows where I am at all times. I must ensure that my Soldier’s are where they are supposed to be in their proper uniform. I need to ensure that I am that to receive the proper information to put out to them. If I do not put out the information to my Soldiers then I have failed them. It could be consequences for the Soldier due to me not putting out the information in time. Also, I must always b e accountable for my actions no matter how severe the consequences are. I need to teach the Soldier’s that it is best to have integrity in all situations. By not have good accountability for myself I did not live up to all of the Army values. Once you have neglected one army value then you might have well neglected them all. Also by not making it to accountability it looks like I was blowing off pregnancy pt. Pregnancy pt is a post wide program and is mandatory that you let them know where you are during pt hours due to them…

First off, scheduling work is a very important duty of any leader in the Army or the Armed Forces to tackle every day. Being at the right place at the right time for any member of the army is extremely essential to the defense of the entire United States of America. Dependability, accountability, consistency and discipline are all crucially related to being on time. In addition, promptness also shows that the individual Soldier has their priorities straight. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 66.2 percent of the high school graduates last year went on to higher education (U.S. Dept. of Labor). When these students graduate from college they have, on average, about $27,000 in student loan debt (Walia). It is expected that there will be 1.8 million undergraduates graduating this fall (Fast Facts). Their debt will be added to the 1 trillion dollar student loan debt that already exists. This total for student loan debt is more than that of all auto loans and all credit card loans (Liang 23). Currently 1 in 5 households in the United States has student loan debt. Half of all student loans are in default and are currently not being paid for (Walia). The problem will only continue to worsen if steps are not taken to stop it. Some may think that this issue does not concern them, but it will have a critical effect on our entire economy. Consider the thought that, because all of these people have so much debt to pay off they have to wait to get married, buy a house or a car (Laing 24). There are many ideas of how we should resolve this problem. It has been suggested that when students graduate they should pay 5% of their total income for 25 years and whatever is not paid after that is automatically forgiven (Schlesinger). Others believe that the real problem is the private loans because they are usually not as willing to help students when they are having financial problems (Bernard 6). Yet another group of people say that just lowering the cost of tuition would take care of the problem. Mark Kantrowitz wrote that the government should invest more into higher education with grants to make college more affordable for students so that they don’t have to take out so many loans. Others have proposed that government, which provides (99%? site) of the student loans, establish a policy that grants loans based on the academic major (Walia). Along with this, it is also suggested that we…
