I. INTRODUCTION
The curiosity about the effects of “Facebook among students, how does “Facebook” attract people, especially students and teens, and how they became addicted to it and how Facebook can be helpful or a destruction to the studies of the students are the main concerns of this study. This research shows how Facebook helps its user, especially to the young, teenagers, and students or how it can be the reason for them to fail on their studies.

Facebook can be of such a hindrance or help on the studies of young, teenagers and especially to students. Facebook can be useful as a source for studying of the young, teenagers, and most especially students but it can also be a hindrance when not used properly by the students. A. Background of the study

These days, well over ninety percent of youth over the age of fourteen and many younger still have Facebook account. In fact the number of hours the average individual spends in using this social networking tool is quite alarming. And because of this, the group is motivated to conduct this study on the effects of Facebook to the studies of Second Year High School students. B. Objectives of the Study

This study aims to determine the effects of Facebook on the studies of Second Year High School Students of San Pablo Colleges, Academic Year 2011-2012.

*To determine whether Facebook can be helpful or a destruction to the studies of the students C. Significance of the Study
The group conducted this study to determine the effects of Facebook to the studies of Second Year High School Students of San Pablo Colleges. With the study result, it may help the researchers to understand the effects of Facebook on the studies. The researchers also believe that this study can be helpful to those who plan on having a study about Facebook in the future. D. Scope and Limitations of the study

The respondents are the Second Year High School Students of San Pablo Colleges. The researchers limit that the respondents will come from the said school.

II. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
The researchers’ curiosity about the effects of Facebook among students, leads us to choose that certain problem, how does “Facebook” attract people, especially students and teens; and how they became addicted to it.

Students who spend much of their time online proved that they found it difficult to resist logging in on this so-called “Facebook” and in concentrating in the participation inside the classroom which leads to failing grades because of not understanding what is taught. Not a few teacher who seemed to be not fond of this malevolent effect, were disappointed on seeing students...
