Isaac Asimov is a legend known for his science fiction stories. Isaac Asimov was born on January 2, 1920 in Petrovichi, Russia, Soviet Union. Isaac and his family moved to Brooklyn New York in 1923. His parents changed his date of birth to September 7, 1919 so he can start school a year earlier. He had started reading before he was 5 years old. From 1930-1932 Isaac Asimov was placed in rapid advance course. Isaac Asimov was a smart and brilliant student. He skipped some grades in between his early education. He also started high school at the age of 12. In 1939 he received his bachelors and in 1941 he earned his masters in science. From 1942-1945 Asimov was a chemist at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard's Naval Air experimental station. After the war ended, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was transferred to the island of Oahu and was destined to participate in the atomic bomb tests at Bikini Atoll in July 1946. ______,______. Isaac Asimov’s interest in science fiction began when he first saw science fiction magazines at his family’s candy store. At first Isaac’s father refused to let him read the magazines but he convinced his father that the magazines were based on serious science journals. After reading that one magazine Isaac Asimov became a huge fan of science fiction. Isaac Asimov was such a devoted fan that he started writing letters to the editors of the science fiction magazines. Soon as Isaac got older and more interested in science fiction he started to write his first story at the age of 17. Isaac Asimov sold his first story at the age of 18. Marooned off vest was Isaac’s first piece of work published. It was a comic and it was science fiction. Isaac Asimov’s first novel, Pebble in the sky was published by Double Day. This novel was also science fiction. Isaac Asimov died April 6, 1992.
