In today’s climate of international trade, firms must consider several influences affecting to them to remain competitive and improve performance. This paper introduces a descriptive framework for understanding the factors that impact to FPT Software Company. They are globalization, global crisis, technology, social trends, workforce diversify, and social responsibility.
FPT Software (Fsoft) was established in 1988 as a division of FPT Corporation and it quickly became a biggest Information Communications Technology Company in VietNam. Also, Fsoft has developed rapidly and become a company of international stature with many branches in over the world. By technological advancement and a good standardized management process to guarantee the quality of services and meet the requirements of global clients, Fsoft has been granted the very prestigious certifications of CMMI level 5, ISO 27001:2005, and ISO 9001:2000.
In the international business, globalization is one of factors strongly affect to Fsoft. Thanks to globalization, Fsoft gain a large of customers worldwide in the U.S, Europe, Japan and other Asia Pacific countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia. Moreover, FPT software established many companies like FPT Japan, FPT Asia - Pacific, FPT Malaysia, FPT USA, FPT Australasia, and FPT Europe in order to meet the demand of these markets. However, globalization badly affect to Fsoft. The DOTCOM’s effects in 2000 have a great impact to Fsoft. This made the software exporting market face many difficulties because of lower demand. The global financial crisis in 2009 influenced drastically to the growth rate of company. Company only had revenue with 209.5 billion VND, decreased strongly compared with 2008 (714.6 billion VND). Besides, globalization increases competition. Misa, Tinh Van, Usol, CMC are the biggest competitors of Fsoft in the software developing market in VietNam.
